PRODUCT REVIEW | NAILS

By Huda Heidi Kattan

I have some weird obsession with collecting polishes and I know I’m not alone! For some reason, gorgeously pigmented polishes get me suuuper excited! I know it sounds funny, but if you find the right polish, it can do wonders for your skin tone! The other day, I was shocked to see how similar some of my polishes are (money well spent!). After I tried them, I realized they were pretty much the same EXCEPT the quality! All different prices, but which one really takes the cake?

YSL Corail
I love this polish so much! The brush is wide so it makes application flawless, even if you have no idea how to paint nails! The formula is amazing, it is practically streak free and the pigment is VERY strong! It also dried pretty fast, which is always a plus!

Dior Riviera
I love this collection from Dior and Incognito (from the same collet is one of my favorite nudes ever created! The brush is also nice and wide and it actually seemed to dry the fastest! HOWEVER, when I painted my nails, I found it really streaked, which was a bit of a pain!

Inglot 359
As much as I love the color selection from Inglot, their brushes are not my favorite! They are really skinny brushes and definitely don’t seem as quality as the rest! To me, my favorite thing about Inglot polishes is their color selection! It also streaked, and with the thin brush, that made it difficult to paint perfectly.

Sephora Jealous
I was impressed with the super thick brush that came with this polish, especially considering the price point–it was probably the thickest! The polish itself seemed to dry quit well, which was also amazing! As far as color selection, they are tied with Inglot for some really amazing color choices. As great as they sound, I personally wouldn’t buy them again for two reasons, they streak like CRAZY and the polish really separates when you store it, which to me, means it’s not as quality as some of my polishes that don’t!

CONCLUSION
Sooooo, does price really matter? NO, not entirely Some of the luxury polishes had some of the same issues that the more budget-friendly polishes had and after there were two coats of the polishes, you really can’t tell which one is which! To me honestly, it comes down to color! Of course, if I had to pick one winner here, it would be YSL simply because even with one coat there is literally no streaking!

Also, it’s shocking that they leave separated polishes on display in their stores! That’s enough to deter anyone from buying them…

You should try the H&M polishes, they don’t have a big range in color but the ones they have are really fun colors, also thick brushes and very affordable!

OPI and Essie nail polishes are the most affordable and literally require a single coat. The brush is also wide and their colors are endless!!
