NATURAL BEAUTY | DARK SPOTS

By Huda Heidi Kattan

Heeeey boos! :) I have been getting a lot of questions about dark knees, elbows and underarms, and I know, they SUCK! I actually had dark knees when I was young, and my older sister Alya helped me banish them with at home remedies! Now, here’s the deal, this scrub is AHHHHHmazing, BUT for it to really be effective, you have to try not to sit on your knees too much and also use it daily! This works like a charm ;)

SKIN BRIGHTENING BODY SCRUB

Ingredients
Baking Soda
Lemon

Squeeze as much juice out of one lemon and mix with enough baking soda to create a paste, add water if needed, but make sure the paste is slightly loose. Then work into underarm, knees and elbows and leave for 10 minutes. Then wash off in the shower. Repeat daily for optimal results!

Please people, DO NOT use baking soda as a scrub (especially on your face). Baking soda has a pH of 8, while the skin’s natural pH is around 5.5. By using baking soda you will destroy the skin’s natural acid mantle that protects the skin from bacteria, viruses, and helps the skin to maintain it’s moisture. If you constantly strip the acid mantle away it can lead to damage, such as drying, premature aging, acne and eczema.

If you have used baking soda it’s not that your skin is ruined – the acid mantle will be replenished within 2-3 weeks, but only if you do not keep using products (suchs as baking soda) that destroys it.

true, but here huda mixes the baking soda with lemon juice which is an acid. therefore, the mixture will turn into neutral-sh solution.

Do you think this would work on the face too? I’m a bit dark around my mouth and my cheeks are the middle of my forehead got darker because of being outside without sunsceen (not a good choice on my part hahah). :)

    thanks!

You know what really works? May sound weird but the creme you use for babys, for their diaperrash.. Its a thick white cream, and you just leave it on like for the night or for a couple of hours if youre not going anywhere. This reaaaly works! I used it for in between my thighs and armpits! Since they use it on babys and their sensitive skin it doesnt cause any harm or allergic reactions plus its cheappp! I would love to hear from someone who used it xoxo

    Hey Huda
Thanks for this. I just tried to follow your approach but it doesn’t seems to be right? I first squeezed the lemon and then I put the baking soda but the mix boblede? I didn’t put much soda cause I ran out of it. was it because I didn’t put much soda?
