Hi Huda, thanks for your wonderful blog is very helpful. I have a question since you are the expert in beauty can you tell me when is the right age to start using moisturizers? I’m 18 and I want to use them but i’m scared it will be bad since i’m still young
Hi darling! This is a FANTASTIC question! A lot of women email me this and it seems to be a popular debate! Is there such a thing as being too young and do girls in their late teens need to wear wrinkle cream? Here’s the truth behind this:
Before you mid 20′s:
At this point you really just need to worry about hydration. Most women don’t really put any importance into sun screen before their mid 20′s, but it’s essential! I love to sun bathe like the best of them, but I started to see the effects of (HEAVY) sun bathing by the time I was 19 and it was NOT pretty! I advise using a light moisturizer and good lip/eye cream. You can use brightening serums as well, but mostly to clear up acne scars or even skin tone. I would stay away from wrinkle creams and other anti-aging products and remember to keep your skin routine light! Don’t over do it!
Product Recommendations Olay Total Effects Face Cream, Olay White Radiance Serum, Cetaphil Lotion (for acne prone skin), Elemis Eye and Lip Cream
Mid 20′s to Mid 30′s:
I think this is the time you really start to see the effects of EVERYTHING you did wrong before–poor diet, too much sun exposure, skipping moisturizers, being too rough around the eyes, smiling too much (there’s nothing wrong with that, but the effects SURE start to show here). It’s important here to really never leave the house without SPF, but also start using it on your decolletage and hands! Also, massaging your face upwards is key here to avoid sagging and using a full skin routine is probably a good thing here. As far as anti-aging, you can start to introduce products that help prevent aging, but keeping them light is essential. I prefer really using great scrubs and products with retinol and brightening to keep skin youthful.
Product Recommendations: Olay White Radiance Serum, Guerlain Orchidee Imperiale, Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Wipes, Strivectin Neck Cream, ROC Retinol Eye Cream (sensitive)
Mid 30′s to later:
At your mid 30′s your skin will really start to become an important issue. It really depends on your genes to see how much your skin will age and sag, but good skin habits can make a WORLD of a difference! Eating is really essential here more than ever, taking the right vitamins and doing facial massage! If you are interested in doing Botox, this would be the time to do it, but just make sure you keep it light since it can become very obvious! Go to a doctor that is known to have a VERY light hand, it’s better to have a little wrinkle than no wrinkle at all! The last thing you want is to look perfect when you don’t move and then turn into a monster when you move your face (i.e. Kim Kardashian, she’s gorgeous, but when she moves her face it’s honestly a bit scary).
Product Recommendations: Guerlain Orchidee Imperiale Face Cream Day & Night, Olay Total Effects Day & Night Cream, Strivectin Wrinkle Cream, ROC Retinol Face Cream

Will appreciate it!!:) Thanks!!:)
hey huda, well i am 15 however i do whatever it takes to keep my skin clear and try to keep it eventoned. i take a lot of care with stuff like this. i try to keep my dark circles nice and light and i have been able to achieve that with all your help so thank you huda. However lately i have been a little lazy and i am noticing i am getting uneven toned skin which doesnt look very attractive at all. this is where i need your help and i hope you can tell me what sort of natrual things i can use to achieve a even toned skin. i have been using lemon for a while and its been working well however i was hoping if you can tell me what else there is to achieve a bright eventoned skin complextion. i hope to hear from you soon darling, thank you! xxx
Huhu too bad the products you mentioned isn’t available in my place, i was especially craving and covetting for the Olay White Radiance Serum
Huda I am 16 and I have very mild acne (a few tiny bumps under my skin – between my brows and on my chin) I use Retin-A, Clearasil Toner and they’re working amazingly for me and my skin is doing really well, but I also use a Clinique moisture surge moisturizer at night and Kiehl’s Ultra Facial moisturizer by day, NUXE brightening serum, Murad AHA facial wash and kiehl’s eye cream – is this too much for my age? And if so, should I tone it down by using natural alternatives such as DIY face masks and such? My mom always told me that expensive skincare doesn’t work as well as natural ingredients like honey and oats do but I never take her advice. Please reply! Love you huda xx

Ive been following your blog so quite some time now, but I have to say this is honestly THE BEST POST you’ve ever written. Huda, I’m 20 and started using almond oil around the eyes to decrease amount of wrinkles for the future, but found it to dehydrate the skin. What should I do? Is it healthy for me to use it in the first place???

Hi Huda,
I love your blog, it’s great!
Have a question about skin are and anti aging etc
Are there any natural remedies you recommend like using almond oil etc, and are we wasting so much money on anti aging products with chemicals etc?
What do you think…. Better to use natural homemade products or use multiple products out there in the market?
Pls advise
