I try my best to eat healthy but at times it can be difficult ESPECIALLY when I am stressed out (and walking by the candy store:)), or if I go to the grocery store on an empty stomach. It’s pretty crazy, but did you know that sniffing vanilla can help to suppress your cravings for chocolates and sweets? Smelling delicious vanilla? Isn’t that just grande :)! I was soooo excited to find that out and had to share it with you all on how it works!!!
A study conducted by St George’s hospital on this topic found that putting vanilla-scented patches on the back of participants’ hands significantly reduced their appetite for sweet foods and drinks. We all know that sugar actually works in our body like a drug, so when you have a little, your body will naturally start to crave more. This will definitely help combat those cravings! I have started doing this and it has REALLY helped me! So next time you are craving a chocolate candy bar take a whiff of the scent by spritzing on some vanilla-scented perfume or lighting a vanilla-scented candle.
