My Verdict On The Kylie Cosmetics And KKW Lip Collection
A Nude Lip, in my opinion, is THE sexiest lip anyone can wear. So obviously, I was dying to get my hands (and lips) on the latest Kylie Cosmetics collaboration with her big sister Kim. The KKW Crème Liquid Lipstick collection includes four super pretty pinky nude shades, AND they’re in a completely new formula – not a gloss or a matte! This new formula reeeeally intrigued me and I was very excited to try these out finally! Appropriately named with Kim’s nicknames – Kimberly, Kim, Kiki, and Kimmie – the whole vibe of the collection is cute and girly, just like the brand.
What it is: Four nude-colored creamy liquid lipsticks offering sheer to medium coverage, which can be layered to build intensity.
What it does: The formula contains ingredients to moisturize and hydrate your lips, while the gloss-like texture glides onto lips for a lightweight feeling.
What we liked: I looove the packaging, and the colors are SOOO stunning! They feel super comfortable and have a really nice texture to them. However, when I removed the product, my lips didn’t feel particularly hydrated. They also lasted long enough, and with a couple of layers, the finish was a beautiful, soft sheen. My favorite has to be Kimberly; it’s such a subtle and wearable nude.
What we didn’t like: Although the crème is comfortable, the payoff is quite sheer, and I prefer my lipsticks to have more coverage. I tried mixing it with a liquid matte, but the combination seemed too intense, and the lightest color, Kimberly, turned out really light and chalky. If you guys get this collection and want a more opaque finish, use a liquid lipstick and then apply a very small amount of lip crème at the center and blend out.
I can’t help it, I’m a matte liquid lipstick lover! I kind of wish these were in a liquid matte formula, but the colors are really, really pretty, so I’ll definitely enjoy wearing these shades.
