There’s nothing more gorgeous than a smile, and knowing my teeth are white makes me want to smile so much more – it just gives me that extra bit of confidence! But honestly, an expensive trip to the dentist isn’t the only way to achieve perfectly white teeth. For years, I relied on a few simple DIYs and my favorite, inexpensive teeth whitening strips for a glowing smile, and they honestly work amazingly! Give some of these a try, and you’ll be on your way to a brighter smile in no time:

DIY: Strawberries and Baking Soda

I swear by this! Mash up a strawberry and mix it with a teaspoon of baking soda. Once well combined, dip a soft toothbrush in it and gently brush your teeth with it. The combination of malic acid and vitamin C removes stains and brightens the teeth for a noticeable difference. Although the acids in strawberries can damage teeth if used too often so we don’t recommend using this DIY frequently.

Crest Whitening Strips

I’ve always been cautious with whitening strips as I’ve tried some before, and they’ve made my teeth really sensitive, but Crest Whitening Strips have always been my go-to for a pain-free option. My favorite, the Classic Vivid Teeth Whitening Kit, costs as little as $34, but they have a ton of other options you can try too. See how I use them in my video.

DIY: Brushing with Activated Charcoal Powder

This is such an easy thing that you can do every day to keep your teeth stain-free and sparkly. You just need to load up your toothbrush with toothpaste and dip it in activated charcoal powder. While you brush your teeth, the charcoal powder absorbs plaque and bacteria and lightly polishes teeth to remove stains. Charcoal can be slightly abrasive to teeth, so we don’t recommend doing this every day.

DIY: Oil Pulling

This is basically swishing a tablespoon of coconut oil around your mouth for 15 to 20 minutes. It might sound a bit gross, but afterwards, your mouth will feel so clean and your teeth will look so shiny, it will be worth it. It’s an ancient technique which works to draw out bacteria from your teeth and gums (the fatty cell in bacteria is attracted to the fatty component of coconut oil), and it also completely neutralizes your breath, so it’s a good thing to do once a month.

I hope these help some of you, and darlings, always remember to be mindful of potential risks when using any products in non-conventional ways.
