Iconic MUA Billy B Does My Makeup
OMG, you have no idea how ecstatically excited I was when legendary makeup artist Billy B (Brasfield) told me he wanted to paint my face! He’s the man behind some of Lady Gaga’s most iconic looks (those insane Bad Romance and Telephone music videos), and he’s worked with incredible names like Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Britney Spears, Missy Elliot, and Dolly Parton – so you can imagine this was kind of a big deal! Billy B has been such a huge part of my makeup obsession; he was an inspiration to me from the start. Not only because he is hugely successful but because of his humble beginnings and his transition into the MUA world (he’s self-taught!), was so relatable and inspiring – he’ll explain in the video. King of stage makeup, red carpets, and magazine covers, Billy B is the ultimate bawse of MAJOR glam makeup. Check out the dramatic Sofia Loren-inspired look he did on me (on my left side), and also his Huda-inspired look (on my right side!).
Not only did Billy B tell us some amazing stories (most are top secret!), but he gave us a first look at the gorgeous Billy B x Gállány Face and Eye Palette, which he collaborated on with Gállány Cosmetics to create. Adding to his awesome collection of makeup brushes, he’s created the ultimate palette, that he says includes “19 of the hardest working shades from my kit that I’ve used on all my clients for the last 25 years.” This palette has everything: subtle, soft matte colors for contouring, shimmering shades for the eyes, gorgeous browns that work perfectly as eyeliner and for the brows, and pretty pink and peach shades that look gorgeous on the eye or the apples of your cheeks.
The palette is Billy’s first-ever collab, and it wasn’t until he met Ida Gàl-Csiszar, the chemist, and founder of Gállány Cosmetics, that he even thought about making a palette. I have to say, Gállány Cosmetics have done an amazing job with the palette, which joins their other collections of lipsticks, dazzling lip glosses, face palettes, highlighters, and bronzers. Billy created all my makeup looks from the video using just this palette!
