The GuY-Factor | Boys Get Photoshopped Too!

By Huda Heidi Kattan

Oh yes! They photoshop men to look thin too! As much as I understand that photoshop is essential for photography, the over photoshop that goes into creating idealistic images of models and celebrities is unreal. The ad campaign for Dolce & Gabbana’s new fragrance, The Gentleman, has received a lot of press for photoshopping Matthew McConaughey to make him look slimmer. Personally, I am a big fan of Dolce & Gabbana cosmetics and I love their ads! I think this ad is awesome and has a retro feel to it! He does look thinner, but I don’t think it looks unhealthy. What do you guys think?

Haute or Not | Candle Wax Nails?

By Huda Heidi Kattan

It seems that nail trends have been getting quite a bit of attention lately. One of the newest trends buzzing the beauty world today is candle wax nails. It may seem a little different, but Ginger and Liz have debuted their entire candle wax collection which I think is actually quite cool. It’s seems to be in between matte nail polish and regular shiny polish. What do you guys think? Is this a hit or miss?

Beautiful Disaster?

By Huda Heidi Kattan

I would like to begin by saying I love Vogue, especially Italian Vogue.  There most recent photo shoot, however, has got a lot of people talking. Illustrating the most recent tragedy with BP’s inexcusable oil spill disaster,  Steven Meisel shot a model imitating the animals that were victims to the spill. As much as I love Meisel’s work and the magazine, this is just a bit too much for me! I was really saddened by the photos of the animals I saw. What do you guys think? Is this creative or cruel?Continue reading
