Happy #WorldVeganDay! In honor of those who don’t eat meat (or dairy, or animal products, or put it anywhere near their face for that matter), we’ve rounded up a few of our fave cruelty-free vegan beauty brands. From hair, skin, makeup, and nail lines, if you’re down with plant, mineral and safe synthetic-based products only, commit these brands to memory stat.

IGK

igk

Considered to be “the new school of hairstyling” IGK was started by some pretty cool hairstyling gurus and thus created some pretty cool styling products. Not only is there packaging never level, but their tried, tested, and perfected formulas are unmatched in the industry. The best part is, they’re also vegan — and free of mineral oil or petroleum. Which means you can feel extra good about your hair (and the planet) when you’re applying must-haves like Good Behavior Spirulina Protein Smoothing Spray ($32) and Trust Issues Instant Scalp Rebalancing Treatment ($29). Our fave is a spray that makes your hair dry in 48% less time, check it out!

Kat Von D

Given that Kat herself is a vegan and strong animal rights activist, you better believe she does not mess with animal testing of any kind — nor does she use any kind of animal product in her products. And even though her cult-status lipsticks, liners, and shadows are void of things like beeswax and carmine (a red dye made from beetles), they’re still pigmented AF. Even her brushes are fur-free… No wonder she won Best Cruelty-Free Cosmetics Company last year.

Simper Goods

This brand-spankin’ new collection of all-natural and vegan body oils comes in three blends: Golden Citrus, Sacred Wood, and Naked Coconut ($24 each) and at 2 oz, they’re TSA-approved and travel-friendly for when your skin needs a little glow pre-, mid-, or post-vacay. While they lack any synthetic fragrances or preservatives, they do contain good-for-you, deliciously scented ingredients like jojoba and coconut oil, wild lavender, and bergamot. In addition to the oils, they also offer gem-shaped soaps made from 100% pure plant extracts, organic Himalayan bath salts, and a collection of soy candles — LOVE!

Oribe

oribe

Many of Oribe’s bestsellers are free of gluten and parabens, but the ones we’re crushing on right now would have to be their new Power Drops ($58). Consider them treatment boosters on steroids. Choose between Damage Repair, Color Preservation, and Hydration & Anti-Pollution — depending on your haircare needs — then mix 3-5 drops into your fave Oribe shampoo, conditioner, etc. for added protection or apply to damp locks solo to really reap the rewards.

Kora Organics

kora

Leave it to supermodel Miranda Kerr to create one of the most ethically-made product lines on the market today. Given that she’s used to having all kinds of things smeared on her skin 24/7 (part of the job, natch), she obviously took note of what was good (and what wasn’t vegan) and then she set out to create her own certified organic skincare products. And if you need even more convincing that Kora is legit, just look at the labels, which carry the P.E.T.A logo.

Lushlush

If you’ve never bought a bath bomb from Lush, we don’t know you. Those addictive fizzy little balls (that come in just about every scent and design imaginable) are part of the reason we live for tub time. Another reason? Because their products are almost all vegan — clocking in at 80% vegan to be exact — with the exception of a few items that contain ingredients like milk, honey, lanolin, and eggs. Check their product pages for specifics, but their extensive range of options beats most out there.
