This Hyped About Sleeping Mask Really Is Worth It – New Obsession!

Two things we have an unhealthy obsession with: K-beauty and avocados – fortunately, both are actually great for you! So, imagine when our fave K-beauty brand, Glow Recipe, decided to combine the two to create one super dreamy beauty product… Introducing the Glow Recipe Avocado Melt Sleeping Mask, $45 – our idea of yummy skincare. Considering their first collection of watermelon-infused skincare was a Sephora sellout and still proves to be one of the prettiest beauty products on our bathroom shelf, we had high hopes for this green little pot of goodness!

If you’re wondering what a sleeping mask is, think of it as a night cream on steroids. It’s mightily moisturizing, and you can use it in place of your nighttime moisturizer two or three times a week to give your skin a little extra love, with no extra effort.

What it is: A deeply nourishing sleeping mask made with four types of avocado (74%!), kaolin clay to balance skin, magical, antibacterial manuka honey to hydrate and defend, and gentle exfoliating PHAs. It’s also free of parabens, SLS, synthetic ingredients and mineral oils.

What it does: Hydrates and nourished dull, dry skin overnight! Avocados are rich in oleic and linoleic acid to intensely nourish, while PHAs will gently buff away dead skin cells for a more radiant complexion by morning.

What we liked: The question is, what didn’t we like? It smells divine, it feels like butter going on, and it works into the skin like a dream. Although this is formulated with dry and sensitive skin in mind, it also works for normal and oily complexions without making your skin feel oily – in fact by morning, there were no greasy traces of the mask, just smooth af skin.

We also love that this works as a quick 10-minute mask for when your skin needs a drink but you’ve also got drinks to get to! Just smother a thick layer of the cream on your face (we love that the little spatula doubles up as an application tool) and 10-minutes later rinse away with warm water for super hydrated skin, softer than a baby’s bum. If you’re using a retinol, we love to use this on alternating nights to stop our skin flaking.

What we didn’t like: The packaging is so damn cute that we don’t want to throw the box away, so now it’s just cluttering up our shelf.

The verdict: If the winter is playing more havoc with your skin than fake makeup would, then this is definitely going to perk up your skin. Nighttime is when your skin loses the most moisture, so if your skin is dry, adding a night sleeping mask like this will do wonders to the look and feel of your skin. Marilyn wore Chanel Number 5 to bed, but we’d much rather wear this!
