This $8 Mask Is My New Go-To For Glowing, Hydrated Skin
In case you haven’t been obsessed with sheet masks for as long as I have, they’re basically sheets of fabric soaked in good-for-your-skin ingredients. Unlike other face masks, which tend to help extract or detoxify the skin, sheet masks typically hydrate and feed the skin with ingredients like hyaluronic acid and vitamins. In Korea, sheet masking is an important daily skincare ritual (kinda like moisturizing is in the Western world), and while I don’t mask every day, I’ve tried more sheet masks than I could possibly count. When I saw that the Glow Recipe had created their new Watermelon Glow Jelly Sheet Mask – I’ve been obsessed with their brand since I tried their other watermelon infused hydrators – I couldn’t wait to get my face in it, especially as the new sheet mask texture looked so cool!
What it is: A transparent jelly sheet mask made with all-natural ingredients like watermelon extract and antioxidant-rich natto gum, super hydrating hyaluronic acid, and soothing Centella Asiatica extract (the essential healing ingredient in cica creams). The mask comes in two pieces so that it seamlessly applies and fits all face shapes.
What it does: Soothes, smoothes and hydrates your skin for a glowing complexion.
What we thought: First of all, I love the packaging, it’s so cute, and the actual mask itself is probably the coolest mask I’ve ever used. It legit looks like glass skin IRL, and because it comes in two pieces it easily smooths to the contours of your face and you don’t feel like there’s a bit of skin missing out on the goodness! Usually, sheet masks can be such a mess, but this didn’t drip anywhere or slide about; it just stayed in place, and it felt really cooling on – I’m definitely going to put it in the fridge next time for extra de-puffing! It gave me a really nice glow that actually lasted all day – it wasn’t THE glowiest, but it definitely hydrated my skin and gave it a noticeable glow.
I honestly loved the entire experience of using this mask: it felt great on, looked great, and made my skin feel and look, glowy, plumped and just really healthy. It’s perfect if your skin needs a hit of hydration or to use before makeup to prep and smooth the skin. Plus, for $8, what’s not to love!
