Bestselling-Face-Exfoliator

When Kate Somerville, one of Hollywood’s most beloved derms, drops a new skincare product, you RUN to get your hands on it. And that’s exactly what we did when we heard about her Exfolikate™ Resurfacing Body Scrub, $56, which is a #ForBody remake of her bestselling facial exfoliator. We tested the easy-to-use exfoliating scrub, and our baby-soft skin confirms it’s worth the hype. Here’s our full review:

The Exfoliator: Kate Somerville Exfolikate™ Resurfacing Body Scrub, $56

What it is: A triple-duty exfoliator (physical, chemical, and enzymatic) that buffs and dissolves dead skin cells for soft, supple skin.

Why it’s iconic: The brainiacs at Kate Somerville gave the people what they wanted – a body version of their Exfolikate® Intensive Exfoliating Treatment, $98, AKA their famous facial exfoliator.

What it does: Sloughs flaky skin cells away with three types of exfoliators (more on that later). Antioxidant-rich aloe and honey soothe, caffeine refreshes, and soybean oil helps the skin’s barrier retain moisture better.

The exfoliants: Tiny pumice physically scrubs stubborn patches away while lactic acid, salicylic acid, and fruit enzymes (pineapple, papaya, and pumpkin) exfoliate, polish, and brighten the skin’s outermost layer.

How to use it: Massage a dime-sized amount on wet skin for 30 seconds and let it sit for about three minutes. Rinse and follow with a hydrating body lotion. Use whenever your body needs a good scrub (up to three times a week) or before fake tanning to get a smooth base.

Our Thoughts on the Exfoliator

What we liked: The formula has a gentle grittiness, but it never feels too harsh or rough on the skin – this is MAJOR considering that it contains pumice. It applies easily and effortlessly removes dead skin and smooths dry patches with immediate results – soft and radiant skin at the ready.

Let’s talk packaging for a sec. The fact that it’s a squeeze-and-scrub situation makes it sooo easy to apply just the *right* amount of product onto the targeted areas without it dropping onto the floor (#SugarScrubProblems). You’re basically saving product, money, time, and peace of mind.

What we didn’t like: We love it; it’s a hard yes from us.

The bottom line: This three-in-one exfoliator delivers on all its promises! While the thoughtful packaging deserves a shoutout, we’re praising its gentle-yet-effective formula the most because it reveals baby-soft skin almost instantly. BRB, sending Kate Somerville a thank you note.
