LFW Confirms These Trends Are Here To Stay ALL Year

Beauty News

Fashion week trend

We’re right in the middle of fashion month; New York fashion week has been and gone, and just a few days ago, London Fashion Week officially wrapped. And even though we’re in the midst of the moment and you’ll be seeing the viral fashion and beauty looks on your social pages today, fashion month actually gives us foresight into the future. It allows us to see what’s going to be trending NEXT season. Of course, with the presence of social media, the fashion-followers and beauty lovers will begin adopting the trends ASAP.

Regardless of which category you fall into, we decided to round up the trends that were present at the Spring/Summer 2023 runways AND the Autumn/Winter 2023 shows. In short: these are the trends that are here to stay all year round.

But before we get into it, we’re dishing the industry scoop on LFW, which over the years, has become the destination for up-and-coming designers. While there aren’t as many “big names” as New York, Milan, or Paris, the creativity that spills onto the runway is undeniable. And that’s why it gives us such a unique insight into upcoming trends because it’s where the trends really begin, before they reach the masses or even the designer labels. It’s where the true creatives who love to be daring and experiment with beauty showcase their art. Case in point…

1. Celestial Makeup

Celestial, out-of-this-world beauty looks shone down on the LFW runways, and we loved it. Most notably at Harris Reed, AKA Harry Style’s go-to designer, who sent his models down the runway decorated in gold leaf and 24-karat shimmer shadows.

At Di Petsa, models wore what they described as the “moon tears headpiece.” The stunning clear crystals felt so ethereal. When experimenting with celestial beauty lewks at home, don’t be afraid to be extra by adding diamonte or gold leaf detailing. Alternatively, you can keep it super simple and play around with gold and silver shimmer shadows that make you look like you’ve been sprinkled in fairy dust.

2. Grunge Glam Energy

We called it; grunge glam is THE biggest beauty trend for 2023, and according to LFW, it shows no sign of slowing down. At two of the most highly anticipated shows, Nensi Dojaka and Chet Lo, we saw grunge glam re-enter the chat for the millionth time. First, at Nensi Dojaka, models showcased the most stunning regal smokey eye, which radiated glam grunge energy but with a soft girl edge. Check out our guide to nailing a smokey eye here, BTW. Oh, and we have to shoutout the mani, which was giving goth era with short nails and a faded black design detail.

We also couldn’t be more obsessed with the makeup lewks at Chet Lo, which were created by legendary MUA Isamaya French. The XXL long individual lashes felt reminiscent of manga (manhua) lashes, which we fell in love with this year, and definitely have a glam goth touch. However, what stole the show were the brightly colored stained tongues – it was so rock and roll. The IDGAF energy was palpable. Take note.

3. Non-touring

Non-touring is another beauty trend you’re going to see a lot of this year, that’s if you haven’t already seen it on BeautyTok. As you can probably guess by the name, non-touring ditches traditional contour products and instead relies on highlighter to sculpt your face. We saw it at shows like Harris Reed and Paolo Carzana, and it was next-level stunning. The skin just looked so delicious and naturally defined.

To non-tour, apply highlighter to the high points of your face, including your cheekbones, the bridge of your nose, Cupid’s bow, brow bone, and above your brow bone. It’s a total game-changer.

4. Coquette Feels

The coquette beauty trend is soooo beautiful – we can’t get enough! And it appears neither can designers, as we saw it everywhere at NYFW and LFW. Most notably at Simone Rocha, where the model’s hair and makeup were adorned with adorable little bows.

If you’re unfamiliar with coquette beauty, you HAVE to read our full coquette trend report. The trend was born on TikTok but has been elevated on the LFW runway and during award show SZN. A coquette is basically a flirtatious woman #cheeky. The makeup look centers heavily on a pink monochromatic moment with rosy blush, pink stained lips, and pink pearlescent eyeshadow. As for the hair, it’s all about bow detailing. It’s hyper-feminine and hella cute, and it’s a key 2023 trend, so grab your fave pink formulas and get to work!
