Did you know that the right hair cut (and this is scientifically proven, btw) will make you even more beautiful? The secret to a killer haircut is finding a style that flatters the dimensions of your face. To help you guys find your new signature look, we spoke to celebrity hairstylist Eduardo Bravo, who has worked with mega babes like Emily Ratajkowski and Ashley Graham. He spilled the tea on the hairstyles that’ll “scientifically speaking” bring out your inner bombshell.

Eduardo explains, “There are six different face shapes most commonly identified; long, oval, round, diamond, square, and heart. It’s also very common that someone can have a mix of different shapes. However, don’t let this confuse you! To find the best haircut and style; focus on the eyes, cheeks, and jawline.”
Why You Should Style Your Hair According To Your Face Shape…
“When choosing a hairstyle, the aim is to make your face appear more oval.” Although Eduardo reminds us, “Of course, we’re all beautiful in our own unique way, and you shouldn’t worry if you don’t have an oval face shape. However, the reason why the ‘oval’ is considered the most appealing to the eye is because of the Greek Golden Ratio of Beauty Phi, which for thousands of years was thought to hold the secret formula of ‘perfection.’ The Greeks discovered that the ratio occurs everywhere in nature, therefore used the formula to find the ‘aesthetically perfect.’ According to this theory, Amber Heard’s face is found to be 91.85 % accurate to the Greek Golden Ratio of Beauty Phi. The good news is that with hairstyles and the right haircut, we can make our overall appearance more flattering.”

Hairstyles for Long Faces
Face Shape: Forehead, cheekbones, and chin are of a similar width
Celebs with long faces: Kim Kardashian, Gisele Bundchen, Kate Beckinsale, Sarah Jessica Parker
Eduardo’s guidelines: “Long face shapes are also known as ‘oblong.’ The face has an oval shape with flatter sides and are suited best with styles that have weight and body around the eyes and cheeks. Layers around the face will help emphasize the cheekbones and creating waves using a curling iron or flatiron can help create width. Length looks best below the chin to shoulder length, although long hair also works. However, it’s essential to remember to have a cheekbone accent to be flattering.”
Hairstyles for Oval Faces:
Face Shape: Forehead is slightly wider than the chin, with high cheekbones
Celebs with oval-shaped faces: Jessica Alba, Cara Delevingne, Bella Hadid, Rosie Huntington-Whitely
Eduardo’s guidelines: “This face shape has the most options for haircuts and hairstyles. The features include a soft rounded chin and hairline. From pixie cut to shags and blunt bobs to long beach waves, the oval face shape is versatile. Don’t be afraid to work with natural texture, whether that is curls, waves or even sleek styles. Try different cuts and wear them styled differently!”
Hairstyles for Diamond Faces
Face Shape: Forehead and chin are narrow and elongated
Celebs with diamond-shaped faces: Megan Fox, Kylie Jenner, Naomi Campbell
Eduardo’s guidelines: “A diamond shape is narrow at the forehead and chin, so the goal’s to create the appearance of a fuller forehead and chin. This face shape represents a refined jawline and smaller forehead, therefore it’s essential to focus on highlighting the cheekbones. A good tip’s to tuck the hair behind the ears, which will draw attention to the cheekbones and eyes. Long layers also work well for this face shape, but if you’re looking for something different, angled bob and lobs that are longer in the front will help balance the width of the cheekbones.”
Hairstyles for Heart Faces
Face Shape: Forehead is wider with a sharp chin
Celebs with heart-shaped face: Scarlett Johansson, Lupita Nyong’o, Halle Berry
Eduardo’s guidelines: “Heart-shaped faces have the most width at the forehead, so long face-framing layers give a perfect balance. Bangs are the best option to conceal and balance the width; style the bangs just above the eyebrows or cut a long side sweeping fringe. A favorite trend that’s in style at the moment is the curtain bang for this face shape. It’s modern, versatile and brings attention to the eyes, and is beautiful worn with center and side partings.”
Hairstyles for Square Faces:
Face Shape: Forehead, jawline, and cheekbones are all the same width
Celebs with round faces: Jennifer Lopez, Olivia Wilde
Eduardo’s guidelines: “This is when the forehead and jawline are wide, making the jawline the most predominant feature. Anything that softens the jaw like wispy texture, soft layers, and sweeping side bangs are all a-go! Also, rounded bangs are a great way to soften the corners of the jaw as well.”
Hairstyles for Round Faces
Face Shape: Facial width and length are roughly the same size
Celebs with round faces: Miranda Kerr, Emma Stone
Eduardo’s guidelines: “Avoid blunt haircuts and styles that shorten the appearance of the face, like heavy bangs and tight curls. Loose waves with long layers and off-center and side parts are always good pointers. Lengths tend to look best below the jaw with soft perimeters. Messy, tousled locks will also look great, as they’ll add height and balance out the width. To style use dry texture spray and separate the strands using your fingers to give your hairdo an undone cool-girl finish.”
