Morphe Bronze Glow: Is This Sell-Out Collection Actually Worth The Dollars?

Morphe is one of those brands that no matter what they release, we always want to try it. It may not be the most luxurious packaging, but it’s always cute and you definitely can’t complain when the quality is always on point, and the price is so reasonable! Their latest collection, Bronze Glow, is all about lighting up your face for summer and includes a new 35-shade pan artistry palette, bronzers, liquid highlighters, lip glosses, and a bronzing brush. Here’s what we thought… 

Liquid Luster Mini Highlighter Drops, $25

What it is: A collection of four mini liquid highlighters. Flash (golden bronze), Flare (rose gold), Optic (glimmering champagne), Strobe (shimmering soft pink).

What we thought: First of all, can we just say how stunning these shades are?! Each one is beautiful and sheer enough to work with all skin tones. These liquid highlighter drops aren’t the most blinding we have tried, so you will need to build them up if you want a really poppin’ highlight. We used our fingers to dab them across the tops of our cheekbones and along our collarbones. We love that these set by themselves, so they stay in place all day without moving.

35G Bronze Goals Artistry Palette, $25

What it is: 35 shades of rich bronze pigments in shimmering coppers, essential browns, and gold and plum shimmers. The palette has 24 shimmers, 10 mattes, and one matte with glitter.

What we thought: There’s no denying that this shade collection is to die for! Who doesn’t love a stunning, bronzey-golden look for summer? The rich color spectrum means you can create at least six unique looks with this palette; a berry look, a sexy smokey eye, a subtle nude daytime look with the soft brown shades and opal shimmers, a striking yellow and golden look, a bold bronze statement eye, and tons of neutral options.

We would love to see more mattes, as all the matte shades are brown, and the other shades are all shimmers. The mattes are beautifully pigmented and pick up really well with a brush, and blend out easily. However, we were slightly disappointed with the shimmers as they aren’t as intense as the shimmers we’ve seen in other Morphe palettes. We recommend using your finger to apply the shimmers, as these don’t have good payoff with a brush.

You can also use this palette as a face palette: the variety of cool and warm brown matte tones means there’s a perfect nose contouring shade for every skin tone, and the shimmers look really pretty as a highlighter for the tops of the cheekbones, Cupid’s bow, nose, and brow bone.

Glamabronze Face & Body Bronzer, $19

What it is: A face and body bronzer in three gorgeous bronze shades. Icon is perfect for fair skin tones, Megastar is ideal for medium skin tones, and Phenom works for deep skin tones.

What we thought: The shade range is really beautiful, and we’re really into the large pan size with the mirror. However, we’re a little disappointed with the pigment payoff as we found it very difficult to build up. Using any kind of fluffy brush that you might typically use for bronzing didn’t work for us, so we used a densely packed brush, and even then, it took us a long time to get the results we wanted. If you often go overboard with your bronzer, you might welcome this very softly pigmented bronzer.

Hot Tropic Lip Gloss Collection, $32

What it is: A collection of five high-shine lip glosses in tropical, beachy shades. Sauced (a shimmering bronze), Beach Goals (shimmering champagne), Kiss Kiss (rosy pink), Sunnies (shimmering bronze), Punch (hot coral pink).

What we thought: These are super pretty and very comfortable on the lips – they don’t feel sticky, and they don’t look intensely glossy. The pink shades are lightly pigmented, so they add a sheer tint to the lips instead of an opaque, full-coverage finish while the shimmering bronze shades aren’t too glittery and give the lips a little sparkle without being over-the-top. These will work really prettily as lip toppers over lipstick or lip liner.

Glamabronze Deluxe Face & Body Bronzer Brush, $24

What it is: A giant Kabuki-style brush with tapered bristles (for even distribution) that can be used on the face and body.

What we thought: The brush works really well to distribute pigments easily, however as it is so large and fluffy, we recommend using it with a pigmented bronzer; otherwise there is little payoff. It adds a very subtle glow to the face, but we prefer using this to bronze up our body for a really even, beautiful glow.
