Hi my darlings 🙂 Hope you guys are having a wonderful Friday!! I have received sooo many questions about how to firm up loose skin after major weight loss and decided to do a post on it! Losing weight is awesome, but sometimes loose skin can stay behind which is a pain! Here are some VERY important tips to keep your skin tight and beautiful! Hope you all enjoy Xx

Tip #1: Drink Your H20!

Water is so important for maintaining skin elasticity. We all know it’s a great way to keep your cells hydrated, but it actually keeps them firm as well! Without water, our cells tend to shrivel over time! Make sure to drink at least 2 liters of water daily!

Tip #2: Say No To Crash Diets!

Yoyo dieting is the worst! It’s pretty crazy, but around 75% gain most of the weight back within 3 years of dieting, and cause serious damage in the mean time! Some experts believe that years of repeated yo-yo dieting can cause wrinkles and sagging skin due to the repeated stretching of the skin which may damage the elastic structure that gives skin its youthful, firm tone (webmd). Please please please AVOID FAD DIETS!!!  Do not lose more than 2 pounds a week and never eat less than 1200 calories daily.

Tip #3: Eat Your Protein

Adding lean protein-rich foods to your diet such as cottage cheese, milk, legumes, tofu, beans, seeds, nuts, and fish will help tighten your skin because they all contain collagen and elastic as well as oils to help maintain healthy skin. Also protein builds lean muscles, which will make you more toned.

Tip #4 Eat Your Fruits & Veggies

Moms everywhere knew what they were talking about when they told us to eat our fruits and veggies! Did you know that eating the recommended USDA daily servings of fruits and vegetables will help tighten up your skin? How? Most fruits and veggies have a high water content which your skin needs to rebound. Make sure to eat 5 servings daily.

Tip #5: Lift Weights

Weight lifting is a GREAT way to make your body more toned, lean, and look tighter and sexier. I absolutely loveeeee it because it really kicks your metabolism in high gear allowing you to keep burning calories for up to 48 hours after you have finished working out. How amazing is that!! On the other hand, metabolism increases after cardio exercise only lasts 30 to 60 minutes. If you’re worried about bulking up, don’t be just don’t lift really heavy weights and make sure to rest a day in between sessions.
