NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation

If there’s one thing we’ll never stop looking for, it’s the perfect full-coverage foundation. Even on our good skin days, who doesn’t love the pore-blurring, skin-perfecting benefits of a full-coverage foundation? One brand I’ve always been able to rely on for dope complexion makeup has been NARS – I love the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer – and so, of course, I was stoked to try their newest foundation release, the Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation. The packaging is classic NARS, nothing new, but you can’t knock it – I love it. Not only did NARS send us all 33 shades, but it also has a unique skin-matching technology, which means it will actually fit even more than 33 unique skin tones.

What it is: A lightweight, full-coverage foundation that claims to be transfer and sweat-resistant, providing long-lasting, flawless, breathable wear. It’s formulated without fragrance, oil, and parabens, so it’s great for all skin types.

What it does: The foundation contains Skin Recognition Pigments and mineral tone-balancing powders so that it mimics skin tone for a flawless fit. It also contains a ‘Skin Optimizing Complex’ of raspberry, apple, and watermelon extracts designed to smooth and improve the look of skin over time.

My verdict: Proving that the skin-matching technology actually works, I found a few shades that matched me; which I love because it makes me think if I were more tanned, I wouldn’t need to buy a darker shade. It blended SO beautifully as well! It’s such a thin formula and feels super lightweight, but it gives really amazing coverage and doesn’t look cakey at all. This is perfect for when you’re on the go and don’t have much time, as you can easily and quickly blend it out and it looks flawless. They suggest using your fingers or a damp makeup sponge, but I used our Huda Beauty Buff & Blend Brush, and it literally took about 30 seconds. I set it with a fine powder, and it looked super smooth, photographed really well, and still looked good at the end of the day.

My tips: I found the finish to be pretty matte, but ideally, I would have liked it to be a bit more radiant. If you’re not into a super matte finish, just add a touch of highlighter to your final look for a little glow. I also forgot to use a primer, and it didn’t settle into my pores or creases, but if you do have larger pores or oily skin, I definitely recommend using a pore-filling primer.

I would 100% recommend this if you’re looking for a medium to full coverage foundation that you can build, wear all day, and feel confident in.
