Whether you’re vibing the ‘bush is back’ movement or you’re more of a ‘skin-is-in’ kinda gal, if you want your bikini line to be as soft, smooth and bump-free as possible, then you know it takes some work.

1. Bliss Bump Attendant Ingrown Eliminating Pads, $22Bliss Bump attendant

If you’re shaving or waxing anywhere, these pads are a must-have! The formula packs a serious punch – infused with AHAs and BHAs, glycolic acid, and salicylic acid, they’ll cleanse and exfoliate the pore to remove any sebum or dead skin build-up, which allows the new hair to grow without irritation. They’re also enriched with oat extract to soothe, witch hazel to reduce oil production, and lavender oil to calm inflammation. Plus, they’re void of any nasties and fragrance-free to minimize irritation. We love them as they’re SO easy to use, especially when you’re on the go – we like to stash them in our gym bag. But remember, these are just for the bikini line, don’t use them on your vulva.

2. DeoDoc Intimate Calming Oil, $30

Calming oil

A calming oil is always a good idea; whether you have a full bush or barely-there-hair. And this intimate oil is designed to protect the delicate skin at all times – during your period, an intense workout, or for date night. One of the most important tools for a bump-free bikini line is a great razor (go figure), and this ultra-luxe razor is made with sensitive skin in mind. With just one blade, it provides a close shave without pulling the hair or causing friction, which could lead to razor burn. It’s also designed to apply the optimum amount of pressure to prevent pesky ingrown hairs and chafing. While it’s definitely a splurge, investing in your bikini line and vulva-health is always worth it! Plus, it includes a pack of 10 razor heads, so technically it works out at $7.50 per razor.

Top tip: When shaving your bikini line, change your razor every three to five uses to avoid a blunt blade, which will decrease the likelihood of razor bumps. Keep the used blades for your legs.

The perfect VSource: The Perfect V

If you’re constantly reaching for your razor, then you should consider getting The Perfect V Gentle Exfoliator. The formula features skin-healing ingredients like shea cocoa butter, jojoba oil, and vitamin E to replenish the skin, as well as exfoliating AHAs and salicylic acid to slough away dead skin that blocks the pore and results in ingrowns. We use it once or twice a week in between waxes to keep our bikini line soft and smooth.

Top tip: Before you shave the bikini line, take a long, warm shower or bath to help open up your pores. Follow with a gentle exfoliator to buff away dead skin, then soften the area with a dry oil, like the Fur Oil. This will prep your skin for shaving and reduce the risk of irritation.
