As a beauty editor, one of the perks of the job is trialing new products. However, the standout conditioner of our year (thus far) hasn’t been from one of the lux brands, but actually a drugstore conditioner that was randomly selected at the grocery store.

While many of the luxury haircare products we’ve tried this year have been incredible, this conditioner was a show-stopper – honestly! Suddenly, our tangled curly tresses were tamed with ease, and our hair looked shinier and smoother than ever before. The product in question? The L’Oréal Elvive Anti-Breakage Conditioner, $7. Here’s everything you need to know:

It’s a well-known fact that brushing your hair too vigorously can cause breakage and split ends (sidenote: this is why you should always start brushing your hair strands from the ends and work your way upwards). The best thing about this conditioner is that it literally cuts brushing time in half, and as someone with thick, S-shaped curls, detangling my hair can be a real struggle. However, thanks to the ceramide-cement complex, which replicates your hair’s natural bonding complex, I was able to comb through my hair in minutes. The ceremide-cement complex also helps to repair damaged strands by filling in cracks, thereby strengthening the hair and making it more resilient. It’ll also helps to seal the cuticle, which will reduce frizz and boost shine. Plus, if you have curls, it will help add definition to your curl pattern.

We weren’t the only ones who experienced these insane results. It’s clinically proven that there’s 95% less breakage from brushing when using this miracle conditioner. In fact, we were able to detangle our hair in the shower by simply using our fingers. We’ve also got to add that it smells delicious and feels so creamy, leaving your hair feeling hella-soft. Needless to say, we’re obsessed!
