New-Beauty-Discoveries

The beauty world drops products faster than we can keep up, and finding the best products can be overwhelming to say the least. Add to the fact that going out and looking at beauty products isn’t something we feel all too comfortable doing RN. Well, we’re here to give you the tea on some new beauty goodies that will upgrade your self-care routine. Here are seven bomb beauty products we’re absolutely obsessed with.

VERSED Day Dissolve Cleansing Balm, $18

new cleansing balm

This heavenly-scented cleansing balm uses the natural aroma of eucalyptus and clove leaf oil to soothe your mind while the gentle balm effectively melts away makeup and impurities. It’s formulated with hydrating avocado and apricot oil, nourishing jojoba, vitamin E and sesame oil, plus anti-inflammatory eucalyptus. Once you’ve massaged the balm onto a dry face, splash with water and watch as the formula transforms into a milk that easily washes away, leaving no sticky residue behind. We love this cleanser for all skin types, especially acne-prone and oily skin. Follow with a water-based cleanser for the ultimate double cleanse.

Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow PHA +BHA Pore-Tight Toner, $34

Glow-Recipe-Watermelon-Glow-PHA+BHA-Pore-Tight-Toner

Okay, this is our idea of a bomb toner! It clarifies and gently exfoliates without dehydrating or causing any kind of stinging. The formula harnesses the hydrating powers of watermelon extract, which is packed with essential vitamins and amino acids that soothe skin, and cactus water which seals in moisture and prevents moisture loss while delivering electrolytes and antioxidants to your skin. The addition of gentle PHAs and willow bark extract (a type of BHA) help gently exfoliate skin and pores. The buffering of soothing ingredients like cucumber extract, glycerin, and hyaluronic acid mean it never stings.

SLIP Medium Slipsilk™ Scrunchies, $45

SLIP-Medium-Slipsilk-Scrunchies

We all know having our hair tied up constantly isn’t great for our hair – it causes hair breakage and stress on our roots that can even lead to traction alopecia if it’s tied to tightly… But it’s summer, and having our hair off our bodies is essential right now! Fortunately, our latest beauty discovery is the answer to our hair prayers. This set of five silky-soft scrunchies is not only super cute, but they’re made with SLIP’s trademark Slipsilk covering (made with durable mulberry silk), so they’re extremely soft and won’t damage your hair. We love these midi scrunchies, which have elastics that are much larger than the average, so they’re ideal for tieing up thick coils, dense curls, and all other hair types.

Innersense Hydrating Cream Hairbath, $28

This super hydrating cream shampoo was created for dry, thick, curly, kinky and coily hair types, and we have to say, we are obsessed with it! Not only does it smell amazing, but it also lathers up really well; and don’t worry, this is a sulfate-free cleanser and the lather created is derived from the fatty acids of coconut oil.

When we tried this on 4C hair, we were at first a little nervous at how much it lathered, but it gives such a great cleanse without stripping the hair of moisture, thanks to the formula that also boasts super moisturizing and nourishing shea butter. It also contains tamanu oil, which is full of fatty acids that strengthen and protect the hair thanks to vitamins A, B, D, and E, and proteins and amino acids. The addition of sage oil helps balance oil for a healthy scalp while nourishing emollients soften and smooth the cuticle. And of course, this formula is also silicone-free. It leaves hair looking super lightweight and bouncy while still feeling incredibly hydrated. If you’re a curly girl, this is a must-try, plus they do 32 oz bottles! Shout out to the Curl Doctor for recommending this brand to us, and check out more of his recommendations for curly hair here.

Fresh Vitamin Nectar Antioxidant Face Mist, $25/ $44

Fresh-Vitamin-Nectar-Antioxidant-Face-Mist

Since we tried this out at the beginning of lockdown we have been absolutely obsessed with this vitamin mist that targets, dull, dry and textured skin! The refreshing spray hydrates, soothes and restores skin with a vitamin-rich fruit complex of vitamins C, E, and B5, lemon and orange extracts, and minerals. The alcohol-free spray is literally the most constant part of our skincare routine. We spray it on immediately after cleansing and before toning, and throughout our routine for extra hydration, plus it’s perfect for a quick boost during the day, and it also works well on top of makeup.

Innersense Sweet Spirit Leave-In Conditioner, $26

Innersense-Sweet-Spirit-Leave-In-Conditioner

Another one from Innersense, because this brand is so good! This lightweight detangling spray is infused with emollient oils, fragrant herbs, flower essences and honey that makes our hair feel like silk every time we use it. Made with organic plant extracts including Tamanu oil that’s rich in fatty acids and organic rice proteins that strengthen the hair, this is our go-to for post-wash hair hydration. Literally, the first time we used this, we misted it on to towel-dried air and let it dry naturally, and someone told us our hair was glowing – it makes your hair feel so soft and look so silky.

We also found this was not too heavy for fine hair types and hydrating enough for thick, curly, coily and kinky hair, although we would recommend using more product, the thicker your hair.

Kate Somerville DeliKate Recovery Serum, $85

Kate-Somerville-DeliKate-Recovery-Serum

If you’ve gone OTT with acids or your face is extremely dry from a new retinol, then this serum should be your go-to. The healing treatment was designed to rebuild and repair stressed skin after in-office treatments and is packed with powerful omegas, skin-building ceramides, and cucumber seed oil to calm and soothe. The formula instantly soothes redness, itching and uncomfortable skin by hydrating and helping to rebuild the skin barrier. We recommend this for all skin types, and it’s especially great for sensitive, acne-prone and oily skin types as the formula is so lightweight, soothing and hydrating.
