Colorful Eyelashes

Why We <3 It: Swiping on a few layers of colorful mascara is one of the easiest ways to incorporate a pop of color into your makeup look. It’s subtle enough to not feel like a major commitment, but it’ll still make you feel like you’ve done something wild!

How to Pull it Off: There are three ways to achieve this look. The first is to pick up a colorful mascara, making sure to prep your lashes first so the color shows through. The second is to purchase a set of colorful lashes. “Many vendors sell colored lashes in different colors, shades, and lengths,” says Janeisha Mays, a makeup artist based in Texas. “Option three is to create your own. Take a pair of your favorite lashes (or just work with your own), set them with a lighter concealer, and then take your favorite pigmented eyeshadow – cream or powder – and apply it to your lashes.”

Neon Eyeliner

Why We <3 It: This is the same idea as wearing mascara in a colorful hue, only we’re working with eyeliner (liquid or pencil) and the idea is to stick with neon hues, like lime green, hot pink, bright orange, splashy yellow, and electric blue. “I’m obsessed with the neon eyeliner trend right now. A bold, bright liner is a great way to incorporate a little splash of color into your look without a ton of effort,” says Sean Harris, a Los Angeles based makeup artist. Danessa Myricks, makeup artist and founder of her own cosmetic line, agrees. She says, “From scattered lines to bright washes of color, neons are an instant head turner and eye opener accessible for all ages and styles of makeup.”

How to Pull it Off: “I think the best way to make this work and still feel chic is to use a very thin liner brush to create a wing,” says Harris. If you go with pencil, draw on a thin line and smudge it out with an angled eyeliner brush. Myrics says, “If a wing is not your thing or you find it too hard to create, add a dash to the inner corner of the eye, at the center of the eye, or a dash at the outer corner of the eye.”

Glossy Lids

Why We <3 It: While the first couple trends play with color, this one’s all about texture. Glossy lids feel fresh, unexpected, and turn your makeup into a moving piece of art as you catch light throughout the day.

How to Pull it Off: “You will either need to have a colored eye gloss or apply a clear over your favorite color of matte eye shadow,” says Charlie Riddle, makeup artist and editorial director makeup at Stila Cosmetics. “Start by taking the applicator and apply the product directly to your lids until your lid is covered. Stop at the crease, though – otherwise this can get messy. With any eye gloss you will need to touch up every hour or two similar to as you would a lip-gloss. You can do this with your fingertip or a synthetic brush.” Myricks also suggests adding a touch of gloss to a smoky eye.

Product Picks: Jillian Dempsey Lid Tint, $28; Morphe Gloss Pop Face & Eye Gloss, $12; Stila Semi-Gloss Lip & Eye Paint, $24

Eye Blush

Why We <3 It: This is a soft and romantic look that can be customized to look gorg on any skin tone.

How to Pull it Off: “Take either a blush-tone shade of eye shadow or your favorite blush,” says Riddle. “With a blending brush, apply the shadow all over the lid up to the brow bone. This works well as a soft color, but you can also go in with a more vibrant hue.” As you’re applying, channel that soft and feminine blush-application energy – blended, soft, and warm.

Product Picks: Huda Beauty The New Nude Eye Shadow Palette, $65; Milani Baked Blush, $9.49 Iconic London Sheer Blush, $26

Why We <3 It: If you’re eager to try a level 10 bold look then opt for this two-toned textured eye makeup. We promise it’ll be a real head-turner.

How to Pull it Off: “Start by using a glitter shadow all over the eye up to the crease. Next, take colored mascara and apply two to three coats for full impact color,” says Riddle. If you’re feeling particularly daring, try a chunky glitter with lots of texture, or keep it more subtle with a foil texture or light shimmer. Another way to really commit to this look is to work with colors that clash.

Product Picks: Stila Glitter & Glow Eye Shadow, $24; Lottie London Shimmer Topper Eye Foil, 5.99;  ColourPop BFF Mascara, $8.
