Hey my loves! I’m so excited to reveal the newest addition to our LEGIT Lashes family… Our LEGIT Lashes Waterproof Topcoat. It’s literally my secret weapon to ensuring my mascara stays perfect all day long, no matter what I’m doing. Whether I’m sweating it out on the cross trainer, having a pool day with Chris, or running around with Nour, my mascara doesn’t budge an inch when I apply this game-changing topcoat. I’m literally SO obsessed and have been wearing it non-stop, especially when the Dubai humidity is as crazy as it is right now!
The Formula
This formula is unlike any other I’ve ever tried – it’s waterproof, tear-proof, sweat-proof, smudge-proof – it’s pretty much life-proof! The clear jelly-like texture features film formers and resins to transform your regular mascara into a waterproof sister. It’s combined with a polymer complex, so it’s super lightweight, comfortable, and flexible, which basically means it doesn’t weigh down your lashes or distort the shape. We created a precision injected brush, which glides onto your lashes and evenly coats even the tiniest lash – I LOVE to use this on my lower lashes every day, and the brush is the perfect size for it. It’s also ophthalmologist tested and suitable for contact lens wearers.
If you tend to get oily lids and often get mascara smudging on either your eyelid or lower lash line, one coat of this as you can say bye-bye to smudging!

The Inspiration
When we first launched our LEGIT Lashes Double-Ended Mascara, $27, in 2020, we wanted to create the ultimate mascara that would deliver an insane amount of volume, length, and curl, so there was no need to rely on falsies. Seriously, I never thought I’d be able to skip false lashes, but now I wear LEGIT Lashes daily; it’s just SO good!
I knew immediately that I didn’t want to do a waterproof mascara; they’re always so hard to remove, they clump up your lashes, and they always flake. They even tend to dry out your lashes over time. I wanted to have the option to waterproof our OG formula so it would hold up whether I was watching The Notebook or by the pool. I needed waterproof lashes on demand! This is the answer and, honestly, the best formula I have ever used!
I’m also so in love with the packaging; the tiny water droplets on the matte black case are just the cutest!
How to Use LEGIT LASHES Waterproof Topcoat
Apply LEGIT Lashes Mascara Double-Ended Mascara or any mascara of your choice and wait 30 seconds for it to completely dry. Evenly apply the topcoat from root to tip of your lashes and let it set for 30 seconds.
To remove, use a waterproof makeup remove or cleansing balm. We like to use the WISHFUL Clean Genie Cleansing Balm, $35, as it gets rid of every last trace of makeup.
My Top Tips
- Wipe off any excess formula from the brush before applying to ensure you get an even coat.
- Don’t forget to apply it to your bottom lashes – I always apply it to my bottom lashes as those are the lashes that typically smudge.
