When you want to tighten up, but don’t have the coins (or time) to spare at the spa every week, the next best thing is an at-home treatment. So we asked a few of the beauty industry’s leading wellness experts to spill their faves. From slimming body wraps and scrubs to cupping — and yes, even the Fascia Blaster — here’s what they suggest trying when you want to tone up fast (for cheap).

Fascia Blaster

Although treatments like CoolSculpting and TruSculpt3D have become increasingly popular for fat melting and body toning, they can be quite costly. And when you don’t have that kind of disposable income (but still want to get your silhouette in check), the next best thing is the Fascia Blaster, according to celebrity aesthetician Joshua Ross of West Hollywood-based SkinLab. “If you want to try something at home, the Fascia Blaster breaks up the fascia in your tissue, which can help release toxins, reduce swelling, improve lymphatic drainage, and minimize the appearance of cellulite,” he explains. Not sure WTF that is? This YouTube tutorial sums it up:

Dry Brushing, Cupping, and Scrubs

“Body brushing the stomach not only helps with digestion, but it gives you a more slimming result,” says celebrity facialist Ildi Pekar. We love to use a dry brush on our legs and bum as well, check out how it works and how easy it is to do here. Another thing Pekar swears by? Cupping. “Body cupping on the face drains excess water and gives you more definition while cupping on the body releases toxins and tightens the skin,” she adds. As for DIY options, Pekar relies on a good old-fashioned coffee scrub, since caffeine has rejuvenating qualities.

Coffee Scrub Recipe:

  • 3 tbsp coffee grounds
  • 1 tbsp natural oil of your choice: olive, grape seed, coconut, or almond
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

Directions: Mix all ingredients together. Depending on the consistency you are looking for, you can add more or less brown sugar. Then get in the tub or shower and get scrubbing, the more vigorous you are, the more energized and invigorated your skin will be.

Body Wrap

“At Paul Labrecque Salon and Spa we offer a Biologique Recherche Lotion P50 Slimming Algae Body Wrap that detoxifies the epidermis, eliminates skin’s impurities, reduces bloating, and stimulates the release of excess water,” says esthetician Jolita Lumelsky. “It also increases your blood circulation and deeply nourishes the skin to provide improved elasticity.” To recreate it at home, all you need is the Biologique Recherche Lotion P50 Corp and the Biologique Recherche Exfoliating Massage Body Glove. Give yourself a full-body energizing massage using a glove with the lotion, then relax in a heated blanket body wrap, $30, for 20-30 minutes to improve microcirculation and dissolve unwanted adipose fat. Doing this slimming treatment a few times a week will soothe, firm, tone, and decongest your skin, but Lumelsky recommends also using at-home products like Biologique Recherche P50 Gommage (two times per week) and the anti-cellulite body oil Biologique Recherche Lipogen AC daily.
