Christian Louboutin's Latest Work of Art!
If there’s one thing I’ve learnt about Christian Louboutin, it’s that he never does anything the traditional way. Whatever he touches, he turns into a piece of art, which is why his latest collection of Eye Amplifiers are no different.
After trying out his recent Loubichrome Polishes, I was extremely honoured to be one of the first in the world to receive this collection and try it for a few days before it was officially revealed to the public. The reason for a collection based only on Eye Amplifiers is to enhance the feature Loubouin considers most expressive. Eyes engage, reveal, and expose as Christian explains in his own words: “You can see happiness, sadness, fear, fierceness…You definitely see everything through the eyes.” This collection is inspired by one of Christian’s beauty icons, Egyptian Queen Nefertiti, as well as his travels to India which are tributed to the collection’s rich colors and intense pigments.
More about the collection:
The Mascara is extremely opulent and reminiscent of Art Deco architecture. It’s something which you’d find in your jewelry cabinet, rather than makeup bag. My favorite feature of the Mascara is definitely the wand – which is uniquely comprised of both vertical and horizontal bristles, assisting in smooth application and creating a dramatic, voluminous finish.
The Ink Liners are stunning! The formula is amazing and the design of the bottle itself is SO Louboutin. I love how involved he is and that he personally designs everything. From Fashion to Beauty – there is a consistency in his style and you can recognize his work miles away. One of the liner shades are Rouge Louboutin, which is the same iconic red shade present in his other designs. It is Christian’s interpretation of “l’oeil de braise”: the burning look of desire.
OK so True Story! The Brow Definers may be my new best friend! I must say, the application with both the Brow Definers and the Kohl Liners was super smooth and they feel very luxurious. The pigments are very rich and it almost feels velvet-like on the skin. The formula literally glides on and the packaging is insanely beautiful. I love the gold cap and embossed signature, as well as the fact that a sharpener is included in both the Brow Definers and Kohl Liners.
Christian’s latest collection is a piece of art, and any Beauty Connoiseur’s dream. It almost makes me want to buy a second set to keep, admire and never touch! Louboutin is a true artist, and I think he is one of few who managed to successfully merge Fashion and Beauty in such a remarkable way.
The official launch date is the 23rd of March, which includes a series of eye amplifying tools. For more information, check out: christianlouboutin.com
