Fashion month is officially over, leaving us with tons of inspo and major wardrobe envy. However, one thing we need neither a runway or access to the backstage rails for, is the biggest trending hairstyle that we spotted all over fashion week. Sported by all our fave supermodels both on and off the runway, was a super clean, slicked-back hair vibe with a modern, parted center.

Of course, each model put their own spin on the style: Hailey wore it in a bun, Bella added a 90s clip, and Jourdan styled her hair in a long, low braid. The result is sleek, chic, and it wears well on everyone. Another major bonus? The hair is pulled back so tight it kinda gives you a facelift – so maybe don’t wear this every day! Plus, it’s the perfect style to slay when you’re working with third-day hair and you only have 15 minutes to get out the door.

Luckily for us, celeb hairstylist Dom Seeley, who created the look on both Bella and Kendall during London Fashion Week, is a regular at Huda Beauty HQ. We quizzed him on the trending style, and he gave us the full rundown on how to get the look. The best thing is how easy it is to do yourself, literally all you need is hairspray, a hair tie, and some muscle! Here’s his quick and easy step-by-step guide.

How to Do a Sleek Updo

Step 1: “Start by heavily saturating the roots throughout the entire hair with a stronghold hairspray or gel.” Dom recommends the ColorWow Cult Favorite Firm + Flexible Hairspray, $26, which is a fast-drying formula that provides long-lasting hold without that crunch factor. It’s also infused with keratin to nourish the hair and add shine, which is essential for this sleek style.

Step 2: “Brush the hair back, keeping it in line with the eye level. Gather all the hair into a ponytail with a middle parting to make it chic and modern. Then, tie it together super tight using a hooked elastic cord,” like the Cantu Hook Elastic Headband, $5. You can also use a regular hair tie, but make sure you can tie it tightly. At this point, you can choose to keep it in a ponytail, wrap your hair into a bun, or work a braid.

Step 3: “Finish the look with more strong hold spray on a small brush, cleaning up the hairline and flyways.”

For bonus points, rock a cute chiffon scrunchie or add some clips.

How to Do a Half-Up Style

If you love this style but love the half-up, half-down look like Kendall, then here’s Dom’s quick and easy step-by-step guide:

Step 1: “Prep dry hair with a volumizing primer or volume mist for texture and slight grit.” Dom told us that his go-to hair primer is the Virtue Create Volumizing Primer, $36; it’s weightless yet instantly builds volume.

Step 2: “Blowout your hair using a round bristle brush lifting at the root and pulling straight through the middle section and ends.”

Step 3: “Apply a texturizing spray like the OUAI Texturizing Hair Spray, $26, onto dry hair and use a flat iron to create irregular texture with flat iron bends and waves.”

Step 4: “Lightly apply a controlling light hairspray to the root and brush into the desired shape to the back of the head with a middle parting.”

Step 5: “Tie the half-up section with an elastic hair tie to match your hair color for discreet wear.”

Step 6: “Apply a polishing cream to seal the ends, define waves, and bring the look together.”

Step 7: “Finish with a mist of hairspray + shine spray to lock all in place using a small brush to clean the edges and hairline.”

Now you know how to get the style, here’s some major hair inspo…
