Hrush Achemyan of @styledbyhrush Talks Brows and How to Slay
You might recognize her on IG as @styledbyhrush, a regular at red carpet events, or maybe even Kim Kardashian West’s glam guru/jet skiing buddy. Whichever way you may have come across her, one thing we can all agree on is Hrush Achemyan gives good brow. Which is why we’re not at all surprised when Make Up For Ever chose to collaborate with the makeup artist for their latest brow collection. While in Dubai to celebrate the launch, we caught up with Hrush about some of her makeup tips and the surprising things you might find in her purse. Read on!
Why was it so important for you to collaborate with a brand like Make Up For Ever?
It’s exciting! I was extremely honored that a brand which, when I started off as a makeup artist would have died to have the whole collection, actually asked me to collaborate with them on something I’m obsessed with. I have such bushy brows myself and I used to be made fun of for them for so long, and now it’s the it-trend. It’s like, look at me now! I’m just so obsessed with eyebrows. It was really a no-brainer for me to get on board.
What are your tips for making brows look fuller?
A new product that Make Up For Ever launched is the Brow Liquid Liner. You can fake extra hair if you use it properly. It adds the look of texture. The Aqua Brow for me though is what really attracted me to brand in the first place. I like to use it to lighten my eyebrows because they’re so aggressive looking. It’s actually what got me on to first using brow products.
Who in your opinion has the nicest brows right now?
If we look in your purse right now, what are three things we’d find?
You’re going to find a mini Sriracha bottle on a keychain…I’m not joking! You’ll probably find Chapstick, and I always carry a brush for my brows because if someone touches or rubs my face, one eyebrow goes down, so I have to brush it up again.
Being based in LA and visiting the Middle East, what do you think is the biggest difference between beauty in both places?
The Middle East loves black and I love that a woman feels so confident with her face. Girls in the U.S. like to glam, don’t get me wrong, even if they’re a little more low-key about it. I just believe wherever you are in the world whether from the U.S. or Middle East, with anything you wear if you wear it with confidence, you’re going to slay.
