Body acne affects loads of us, I’ve experienced it myself, and it’s super frustrating. Unlike when you have a pimple on your face, putting a little concealer on your back isn’t as easy. I often get pimples on my shoulders, and I’ve found a product that makes targeting these tricky spots so easy. But don’t get body acne confused with those tiny bumps on your arms, that’s called keratosis pilaris, and it needs to be treated very differently – check out our blog post on how you can treat that here. If you’re here for acne, I swear by the Murad Clarifying Body Spray, $42 – it made a huge difference to my bacne in a week!

What it is: An acne treatment in a spray bottle specifically designed for your body, which diminishes the ongoing acne cycle.

What it does: The formula uses salicylic acid to penetrate and clean deep into pores, thereby treating breakouts and preventing new acne from forming. It contains niacinamide to balance oil production and blue lotus flower to purify pores. Finally, menthol cools the skin and soothes irritation.

Why we love it: The Murad Clarifying Body Spray is amazing for fast treatment of buttne, bacne, chestne or anywhere else you’re getting pimples on your body. I use this after the shower to prevent breakouts, or if I have a breakout, I’ll use this twice a day. It’s really convenient and super easy to use; because it’s in a spray bottle, it means you can target areas on your back that you might not be able to reach yourself with a cream or body wash, (you can even spray it upside down to get your buttne). It also means you don’t need to worry about washing your hands after you’ve applied it, so this is great if you’re on the go, traveling or just in a hurry. Make sure you avoid using it on your face, where your skin is more sensitive.

My top tips: If body acne has been bugging you long-term, I also really recommend using the Bioderma Atoderm Shower Gel, which is less pricey and really great for your skin and body acne. Even though the Murad Clarifying Spray is quite expensive, it lasts a really long time, and because it works so well, you’ll use it less and less. Also make sure if you exercise regularly to try and wear ‘sweat-wicking’ fabrics that move the moisture away from your skin, and shower as quickly as possible afterward.

Finally, remember that body acne is nothing to worry about, and very normal, but should you wish to try and improve it, this product works really well.
