Losing My Mind Over The Loubichrome Polishes!
After entering the world of fragrance last year, Christian Louboutin has no doubt blown us away again with his
latest trio of mini chrome nail colors, called Loubichrome. I was very lucky to be the first in the region to get these and all I can say is – this man is a genius!! I honestly don’t know how he does this every single time!
The chrome polishes bottle the ultra-luxurious qualities of Specchio (Italian for ‘mirror’), a laminated leather with a mirror-like quality, which has light-reflective properties and they leave an opaque, metallic finish with tons of shimmers! The colors are highly pigmented, quick drying (I swear, it only took a couple of seconds to dry) and you literally just need one coat!! What I love is the playful selection of shades in this collection, and my fav so far is the magenta color. The other two are best described as a fiery red and a yellow infused with lime green. I think they’re so fresh and so on trend for 2017!
One thing I do wish though was that the brush was a bit wider and more flat because it would make application a lot easier. However, I am also a little picky when it comes to brushes because I have been self-manicuring for the past few years.
When it comes to the design of his products, Louboutin is very specific and I appreciate how he is consistent in what he does; he is a true perfectionist. Louboutin is all about creating a signature style (I think we all know the gorgeous red sole stilettos), and similar to his previous nail polish collections, the chrome collection also stays true to this design with the sharp cap (which is also prominent in his lipstick collections). I love how they translated the whole theme of chrome and 3D onto the packaging and cap of the bottle. The cap has an iridescent finish which almost resembles a chrome-like rainbow (I mean, HOW pretty would a chrome-rainbow be IRL?!) I think this is an awesome, unexpected launch and look forward to seeing what else Louboutin has in store for this year.
The Loubichrome collection will be available as from February in the Middle East, retailing at 145dhs in the UAE, and $30 in the US. Check them out online via christianlouboutin.com.
