This Treatment Basically Airbrushed My Skin

I’m always up for trying new treatments, so when I met Cosmetic Expert and NYC Dermatologist, Dr. Shereene Idriss, I was down for trying anything she suggested! Being the beauty genius she is, Dr. Idriss tried something I haven’t had before, a pulsed-dye laser (aka V-Beam – V for vascular, beam for laser beam), and it really made a big difference.

The beam targets underlying redness and broken capillaries on the surface of the skin while it can also be used to help speed up the recovery from bruises. Shereene explained “This treatment is intended for rosacea, but can also be used for acne scars, stretch marks, and facial capillaries, to name a few. The laser uses a concentrated single beam of light that targets blood vessels in the skin. The light is converted into heat, destroying the blood vessel while leaving the surrounding skin undamaged. This is one of the most effective treatments for various skin disorders characterized by red discoloration.”

I had a few red marks from pimples and a little bit of discoloration, and not only did this help smooth and tone my skin, but I feel like it tightened and toned the skin too. If you have rosacea or any kind of red scarring that you would like to have removed, this can make a HUGE difference, so it’s definitely worth looking into. I found the treatment pain-free, but sometimes they do apply a topical anesthetic, and you may need more than one treatment, depending on the level of redness. Some people can expect to see a little redness or swelling after the treatment, but I didn’t. And, I know you guys know already, but you need to wear sunscreen every day, especially after a treatment like this.

Would you guys try this? Let me know if red marks and rosacea are a concern of yours and any questions you have in the comments below.
