Did Tarte Just Create The Most Ahhhhmazing Foundation Stick?
For most of us, a good foundation is the base of our beauty routine and finding one that achieves complexion perfection is #goals! So, when I heard Tarte were adding to their famous Amazonian Clay collection (I’m a MASSIVE fan already) with a foundation stick, I was super excited to try it! Even better, they’re created as ‘kind snacks’ for your skin, so not only are they paraben-free and use Tarte’s famous skin-balancing Amazonian Clay (yay for our skin!), but they also have ingredients to add nutrients, vitamins, and energy as well. I LOVE the idea that when you’re wearing foundation all day, it’s actually feeding your skin!
What it is: A multitasking concealing and correcting foundation stick that can also be used to contour.
What it does: It provides medium to full coverage with 12-hour wear. The microencapsulated powder formula bursts with your body heat for a matte, shine-free finish all day. It’s also designed to smooth, mattify, or hydrate, depending on your skin type.
What we liked: When I first put this on my skin it looked super oily, BUT THEN… when I blended it in (which was sooo easy), the finish was ahhhhmazing! I was seriously impressed; it immediately blurred my skin and covered imperfections so that it looked completely flawless and photo-ready. It gives great, easily buildable coverage when used with a stiff foundation brush – they launched one with the foundation, which worked brilliantly, but if you have one similar, that will work fine. I wore it for ten hours, and my skin still looked amazing at the end of the day, and I didn’t even use a primer! It has a really pretty powder-like finish, so if you have dry skin like me, you won’t need to use a powder on top, but for oily skin, a light dusting of powder will set the foundation flawlessly. The foundation might also crease a little bit if you have wrinkles, so I would definitely recommend using a powder around your eyes like I did. I also really love that this is made in the USA too – #Represent!
What we didn’t like: I wish they had more colors! The collection launches with just 12 shades, so I had to mix two colors to get my perfect match, which will make this much pricier for people if they have to buy two. Initially, I wasn’t super excited as the packaging didn’t grab my attention and it seemed quite slim for a stick foundation, but the formula more than makes up for it.
Basically, Tarte GET foundation! I love that the Amazonian Clay range is all about being good for your skin, and Tarte has definitely become my absolute FAV mid-range brand for foundations over the last couple of years. I literally fell in love with this, and I think you will too – It could actually be the best foundation stick I’ve ever used!
