If you’ve seen a serious influx of crystal drippin’ eyeshadow, graphic liner looks, and abstract neon shadow on your IG feed, it didn’t happen by chance, it’s the Euphoria effect, aka the result of the most real TV series of the year. If you’ve yet to watch the intense teenage drama starring Zendaya, we’ll try to prepare you for the HBO binge that’s about to commence. The show follows a teenager named Rue, aka Zendaya, and her return back to school following a summer stint in rehab. It’s a very real look into the lives of teenagers and their battles with friendships, relationships, social media and a lot more.

But among the heart-wrenching, stomach-turning storylines, it’s started a certified beauty movement full of glitter, crystals, watercolored neons, and of course, hella-amounts of sauce. The best thing? In the teen world of Euphoria, these looks are the norm; each look an expression of the character, their emotions, passion, inner-turmoil, and journey.

Each makeup look was cleverly constructed by the show’s genius head makeup artist Doniella Davy and the very talented makeup artist Kirsten Sage Coleman. Ever since the show aired, crystal-decorated lids and hairlines have become the norm, not to mention the #EuphoriaMakeup hashtag has already amassed over 42,000 posts! We think it’s safe to say this has to be 2019’s most memorable makeup trend.

The show and makeup looks already inspired a host of amazing Halloween looks this year:

We’ve been saving Insta looks and creating them ourselves non-stop since we watched the show. Luckily, at HB HQ it’s totally acceptable to come to the office wearing diamonds in your baby hairs accompanied by neon liner and wispy lashes! Here’s all the Instagram inspo you need to work the Euphoria look into your makeup!

Hugely talented Euphoria makeup artist, Kirsten Sage Coleman, created this bomb, crystal AB covered cheerleader look for performer Maddy, played by actress Alexa Demi. To balance out Maddy’s dramatic eye looks, they opted to keep the brow fluffy and less structured.

Rue’s iridescent glitter tears and sparkling makeup looks by Doniella Davy are completely iconic (Check out Doniella’s story about how this look was created). Although glitter tears might not feel totally wearable, take inspiration from this look by using iridescent shimmers along your lower lash line or along the outer corner of your lids for a subtle nod to this look.

This look is straight fire! We love how makeup artist Samuel Paul kept the overall look really simple with bare skin and a silky lip allowing the glitter to take center stage.

Crystals along the hairline, check. Crystals on the lids, check. Purple vibes, check! We cannot get over how dope this look is; the purple-toned highlighter is the ultimate finishing touch.

If glitter and rhinestones scare you, take a leaf out of character Cassie’s beauty portfolio and opt for high shine metallics and add drama with a perfectly-sculpted winged shadow.

If rhinestones are your jam, then recreate this stunning look as seen on actress Alexa Demi by makeup artist Raoúl Alejandre. We love the nude lip and shimmer eye with rhinestones along the crease and in the hairline.

The character of Jules played by Hunter Schaffer is both incredibly vulnerable but also daring. The variety of her colorful makeup looks have been artfully created by Doniella Davy to reflect this. Get this look by playing with different colors and shapes, in the same way you would do watercolor makeup.

From a shy teen to an empowered and feisty teen, as the character of Kat – played by Barbie Ferreira – adapts and embraces her sexuality, the more she experiments with her makeup looks. This smokey red shadow is straight fire!

If you love the Euphoria look but not sure you can wear it as often as you’d like, play with bright colors for a hint of the trend – giant crystals, optional!

Alexa Demi’s character Maddy has some of our fave eye makeup looks in the show. We love the contrast between the neon liner and the soft pastel eyeshadow. Totally wearable.

Take inspiration from extremely talented makeup artist Maha with this beautifully sculpted liner look. If neon is too bold for you, take it back to basics and make it a sexy black, smokey look.

We love a glossy lid and we can totally see the gorgeous character Jules rocking this.

The great thing about Euphoria-inspired makeup is you can have fun with it. Just like the ever-evolving characters in the show, take elements from these trends to suit your mood and the look you want to portray to suit you. It can be as simple as adding colorful liner, to adding pearls or crystals to your look. Whatever you do, just enjoy letting your makeup creativity flow!
