Introducing our #WomanBossWednesday, the incredibly inspiring Nabela Noor. Fearless and empowered, Nabela is exactly the kind of friend we all need in our lives. While her highlight and lipstick are always on point and her videos will teach you to color correct like you never knew possible, Nabela is so much more than a YouTuber; she is making waves in the industry to advocate for women of all shapes, sizes, cultures, and ethnicities. We love Nabela for her incredibly motivating captions as much as her amazing makeup tutorials. Here’s why she’s this week’s #WomanBoss:

What’s your most inspiring/ empowering quote?
I always say, “I will not reserve my happiness for a later date or a later weight.”

I became liberated and my happiest when I stopped waiting to be happy. Postponing my self-confidence for a certain number on a scale was not helping me love who I am today. So, I stopped waiting and decided whoever I was today and however I looked today was good enough and worthy of love. And it’s changed my life.

What’s the first thing you do in the morning, and before you go to sleep?
The first thing and the last thing I do every day is actually the exact same thing! I list out everything I’m grateful for in a gratitude journal and re-center myself in a place of thankfulness. It’s the best way to start and end each day, I promise you.

What keeps you motivated?
My mission keeps me motivated. I want to bring visibility for girls like me in beauty, fashion, and entertainment. Brown girls. Muslim girls. Plus size girls. I want to keep shining my light in hopes to inspire other girls to shine their own light as well. I want to keep enforcing messages of tolerance, acceptance, and unity in all that I do.

Your biggest challenge?
Along with urging for representation for Muslim and Brown girls, I use my platform to advocate for representation for the plus size community as well. So, a huge challenge has been the resistance from the beauty, fashion and entertainment industry to include plus size women in the narrative. And not just include us to say that they’re including us. But to truly uplift us and portray us in the equal and gracious light we deserve. Huda has been so great at doing just that, and I’m forever thankful for her dedication to inclusion.

What would you be doing if you weren’t where you are now?
Definitely working in politics and government, specifically at the United Nations where I could focus on advocacy.

Where do you usually get inspiration from?
Trailblazers inspire me, regardless of what industry they belong to. I can spend hours listening to leaders from all areas. I also get inspired by ideas. Ideas change the world and the idea of a world where everyone feels seen, heard and represented truly inspires me every day.

Something you’ve never told anyone before?
My first channel on Youtube was actually a music channel. I created my beauty channel as a second channel for fun. The beauty channel kicked off, and I later deleted my music channel but promised myself I’d release music one day to my audience. This year I’m doing just that!!

What advice would you give to aspiring MUAs
I love this quote: “Do the best you can with what you have.”

In this social media world where it can always feel like nothing is ever enough, it’s so important to remember to do the best you can with what you have. It’s okay if you don’t have the best equipment or setup or backdrop or makeup, do the best you can. Whatever you want to do, just do the best you can possibly do with what you have. You have something unique and special to offer the world so discover what that is and own it and don’t let comparison keep you down. Rise above and keep shining!
