Oh and ICYMI (as of 2 years ago), Hello Kitty is no longer a Continue reading

Full Face Makeup Using ONLY the Rose Gold Eyeshadow Palette!

Hey My Loves! If you already got your Rose Gold eyeshadow palette, I hope you’re loving it!! The shadows are super pigmented and the more I use it, the more I find different ways to apply them! As a fun challenge, I did a full face using ONLY the colors in the palette. Besides eyeshadows, the colors can double as contour, brow liner, lipstick, blush, highlighter, and eyeliner! Announcement: Beauty School Scholarship Winners from Huda Beauty!

Hey My Loves! A little while ago, I announced a new beauty scholarship initiative at Huda Beauty. I really wanted a way to give back as a thank you for all your incredible love and support, and to just share my passion for beauty with you. With every launch, I wanted to grant a scholarship towards the tuition for beauty school, and since the announcement we’ve had THREE launches (the Lip Contour, Liquid Mattes, and Rose Gold eyeshadow palette!).

I read through all your comments and honestly, it was SO hard to pick just three…I wish I could give a prize to every single one of you, but we will have more to come so stay tuned! If you’re following me on Snapchat (realhudabeauty), you may already know the winners, but here they are again: Congratulations to Leonie Dieckhoff, Nehal Hesham, and Janelle Sanz! I’ll reply to the comment you left on YouTube to get started! I’m so excited to see where your journey in beauty takes you! Xx

What Do You Think About the Ear Makeup Trend??

Hey my loves! You might have seen the new ear makeup trend sweep the runways this season at shows like Louis Vuitton, Opening Ceremony and Proenza Schouler. Models had hints of glitter, gold, silvers, and other colors outlining or covering whole parts of their ears. I decided to try my own twist on it using my sister, Mona, as my model. What do you think?! Would any of you be rocking it soon?

Weird Makeup Primers: Lube, Laxative, or Vagisil?!

Hey My Loves!! I wanted to do a little test to see if there were any affordable substitutes for makeup primer that you can get in the pharmacy, and let me just say…things got a little weird. Besides my tried and true primers like Nivea Men’s Aftershave Balm and olive oil, I gave milk of magnesia, lube, and Vagisil (an feminine anti-itch cream) a try. Why? You’d be surprised that these products contain a lot of the same gentle ingredients like glycerin, and dimethicone that a lot of your primers have in them. So why not give it a shot? To see which ones worked out and which failed (miserably), watch the whole video and let me know what you think!

Hope you enjoyed the video! Do you use any weird makeup primers? Leave a comment and let me know!

Your Quick Guide to BECCA Highlighters (and the best one for you)

When it comes to highlighters, BECCA, maker of the famous Champagne Pop, has a full range to make sure your glow game is on point. But perusing them along the shelves at Sephora can be confusing if you’re a highlighter newbie. For starters, they come in three different consistencies: a liquid, pressed powder, and poured crème which have subtle but specific differences. Luckily, BECCA Style Director, Kerry Cole, was on call to answer all our highlighter q’s. Read on to get her tips on how to choose the best one for you!
becca highlighters

Can you tell us the difference between the three BECCA highlighters, and the kind of finish you can get with each?

“The liquid is a sheer, lightweight cream that has light-reflecting pearls that gives you a subtle glow. It’s great to mix with your foundation from a lit-from-within look. The pressed powder is a creamy powder for a high-shine finish. Finally, the poured crème gives you a mattified luminosity – a more sophisticated shimmer.”

Which highlighter would you recommend for different skin types?

“I find the liquid or poured crème formulas work best for dry or more mature skin since they add a little hydration to skin. Combination skin types can really wear any consistency, but I’d recommend oily skin types to stick to a powder or crème formula.

The shades are so pretty – what are your recommendations for the different skin tones?

“For light skin, I love soft, pale tones with golden highlights, like Moonstone or Pearl. For medium skin tones, opal, golden, or soft pink are so beautiful like Opal or the Rose Gold shades. For dark skin tones, anything with golden, bronze, or coppery highlights are perfect, like Topaz.”

So to recap:

  • Liquid highlighter: Good for a subtle glow and easier to mix with foundation for a touch of brightness. Best for dry, mature, and combination skin types.
  • Pressed powder: Good for a high-shine finish. Best for normal, combination, and oily skin types.
  • Cream highlighter: Good for a mattified shimmer. Best for dry, mature, and combination skin types.

Kerry Cole’s highlighter shade recommendations for:

  • Light skin: soft, pale tones with golden highlights
  • Medium skin: opal, golden, and soft pink
  • Dark skin: golden, bronze, or coppery highlights

Which highlighter would you pick? Leave your thoughts in the comments!
