Galliano: Fur, Feathers, and Oversized Bows

John Galliano is known to push the fashion envelope and boy did he! The s/s 2010 runway show at Paris Fashion Week was very, well, Galliano. Large GaGa-like bows, with fur covered vest, skirts, and jackets dominated the runway. The over-embellished-everything, was just what we expected from Galliano and simply fabulous!

Jaw Dropping Beauty

New York fashion week. Not much sleep for this guy but plenty of beauties, style icons, and preppies made the three a.m. bedtimes worth it.

James Kaliardos | Make-up Artist, New York Fashion Week

DIANE VON FURSTENBERG: started piling on in layers black then a blue that turns green on the bottom lid, then a blue/purple on the top inner lid, then some multicolored sparkles in the inner corner. Lips were pale, worn with a contoured cheek.

NICOLE MILLER: We did hooded tough girls at Nicole Miller. Gray smoky eyes, stained mouth, blush, powder mascara. A real finished face.

ALTUZARRA: Sleek side swept low ponytails with pungent dark lids, and muted nude lips.

RUFFIAN: Designers Brian Wolk and Claude Morais of Ruffian are a double trouble duo that mix Parisian sensibility with an American practicality and wit.

Bittersweet McQueen

It’s been a little over a week since the death of designer Alexander McQueen and while the world is still grief stricken, his stocks show an inverse reality. Like most artist, McQueen’s value has gone up. What might be a surprise is the amount. McQueen’s sales have gone up by 1,400%. Although the situation is incredibly sad, the world of fashion will always appreciate his artistic genius.
