This week we announced our second ever GloWish drop with two stunning new sustainable heroes: our GloWish Luminous Pressed Powder, $33, and our first-ever blush, the Cheeky Vegan Blush $21. Today, we’re talking all things GloWish Luminous Pressed Powder, which is a total gamechanger and one of our fave complexion launches of the year.

What makes this powder so unique is its versatility. You can use it with different tools and techniques to take you from a light veil of flawless coverage to a full-coverage, airbrushed finish. Oh, and it never looks cakey. Intrigued? Here’s everything you need to know:

The Formula

GloWish pressed powder

The formula is perfect for everyday wear: it’s packed full of skin-saving ingredients, it’s non-comedogenic (so it won’t block your pores), and it makes your skin look glowy and gorgeous. The powder comes in the same 13 ultra-stretchable shades as our GloWish MultiDew Skin Tint, so there’s a shade to suit every skin tone.

The fragrance-free, transfer-proof formula is also made with 80% naturally-derived ingredients, including our fave skin-enhancing ingredient; our WISHFUL Damascus Rose Oil, and Vitamin E. It even helps protect skin against the blue light emitted from our phones and computers, which can cause dark spots and speed up skin aging.

Our Fave Ways to use GloWish Luminous Pressed Powder:

1. On Bare Skin

This way of applying powder may seem unconventional, but trust us, it’s a total game-changer. For a medium to full-coverage finish (build it up to suit you), apply the pressed powder on top of bare skin using a damp makeup sponge. It instantly provides a stunning glow with beautifully light yet buildable coverage. It also helps blur pores – we’re obsessed! FYI… this is great for anyone with oily skin.

2. Layer with GloWish Multidew Skin Tint

For glowing skin that lasts from noon to night, layer our GloWish Luminous Pressed Powder, over the GloWish MultiDew Skin Tint, $37. Start by blending out the liquid formula with your fingertips for the most stunning radiant glow and finish by bouncing a damp makeup sponge over to airbrush your glow up. Finish by applying the Luminous Pressed Powder with our fluffy All Over Face Powder Brush, $31. Apply a light veil of powder on top of MultiDew to set your look in place without diminishing your dewy base.

For the ultimate natural finish, use the same brush to apply the Cheeky Vegan Blush $21, to the apples of your cheeks, all the way along your cheekbone. It provides the most beautiful flush of color and naturally sculpts your cheekbones.

3. Use Multiple Shades to Sculpt

Another one of Huda’s fave hacks using the GloWish Luminous Pressed Powder, is to layer a lighter shade underneath the eye area to brighten and sculpt. It’s kinda like a more natural way of baking for a glowing and snatched no-makeup makeup look. Just swirl a damp makeup sponge into the pressed powder in a lighter shade of MultiDew and gently tap the sponge underneath the eye to set and illuminate the area.

4. Apply with A Brush

On those days where you want to get up and go but still want a lil ‘summin summin on your skin, apply the Luminous Pressed Powder directly onto clean skin with a brush. For a very natural finish, use a large fluffy powder brush or for more coverage, use a dense brush and a light stippling motion to lightly press the brush into the skin. It’ll give your skin a subtle, airbrushed finish and a light veil of coverage that instantly evens out skin tone and boosts your glow.

5. Set Your Foundation

We love to use this on top of foundations to set the formula in place and keep that natural, dewy look. Most setting powders mattify the skin, so by using the Luminous Pressed Powder instead, you get to add back that luminosity to your look. Use Luminous Pressed Powder with a large fluffy brush to set your foundation. For full glam days, we bake our under eyes and set our T-zone with our Huda Beauty Easy Bake Powder, and then finish with a light dusting of the Luminous Pressed Powder – it’s the ultimate full glam, glowy look that stays locked in all day.

Top Tip: Always Prep your Skin

A great skincare routine is essential every day of the week but prepping your skin before using powder makeup products is especially important. First, start by using a gentle exfoliator, like our WISHFUL Yo Glow Enzyme Scrub, $39, to gently buff away dead skin and flakeys to create a smooth canvas for makeup application. Next, it’s super important to hydrate, as some powder products can accentuate dry areas. For an extra surge of hydration, combine your fave moisturizer with a drop of face oil. We use the WISHFUL Honey Whip Peptide Moisturizer, $43, and our holy grail oil: the WISHFUL Get Even Rose Oil, $63, as it leaves your skin with the most radiant glow without feeling greasy.
