Ash K Holm’s Top 6 Makeup Tips:
1. How to Hack Fuller Lips

My signature lip is a slightly over-lined, contoured lip using a darker lip liner like BUXOM Cosmetics Plumpline Lip liner in Undercover, $18. It’s a rich brown with ’90s vibes. I like to shade the corners of lips to make them appear fuller, then I take a lighter lipstick (like BUXOM Cosmetics Full Force Plumping Lipstick in Icon, $19) and pat in the center. Using a lighter shade in the center creates an optical illusion of fuller poutier lips.
2. How to Get the Monochromatic Look

I love using the same lipstick shade that I put on my lips for blush, to keep the face monochromatic and cohesive. The trick to pulling this off, however, is with the right brush. Apply the color with a soft, slightly angled blush brush to the apples of cheeks, then sweep the blush into the highlight for a rosy glow.
3. How to Pull Off the Perfect Wing

Create a line that goes from thick to thin, using Huda Beauty Life Liner Duo Pencil & Liquid Eyeliner, $25. Then, to create a sharp wing, start from the last eyelash and angle towards the end of your brow. Connect the bottom line to the top using the liquid brush on its side, for a smooth application. You can also use a patting technique to fill in the triangle of the wing. To make your wing liner even sharper, take a clean angled brush and pinch both sides of the brush into a Neutrogena makeup wipe. Then use the angled brush to clean up the edge of the liner. Each time you clean up the wing, clean off the brush in the makeup wipe so your eyeliner doesn’t smear as you’re making it more precise.
4. How to Powder Like a Pro

When I need makeup to last the entire day, I take powder and apply it under the eyes with a damp Beautyblender. Next, I create two lines on the sides of the nose to set the nose and to make the nose appear slimmer. I also apply powder underneath the cheekbones to bake, then dust off. This softly chisels the cheeks so you don’t need a lot of contour.
5. How to Get Lit From Within

For a flawless glow, apply a cream highlighter to the tops of cheeks, temples of forehead, and clavicles. Applying the product with a damp Beautyblender is the most beautiful finishing touch to the makeup.
6. How to Smokeshow Your Eyes Using Bronze Hues

For a quick smokey eye with no fall-out, take Huda Beauty Matte & Metal Melted Shadow in Cinnamon Toast, $25, and apply it to the eyelid. Using a fluffy brush, blend up to the crease. Then take the metallic side and dab it in the inner corner to make the eyes pop. I love using warm browns instead of your traditional blacks for a smokey eye – this keeps the face looking warm and bronzed.
