The Best Beauty Products We Tried In 2022 (& Can't Live Without)
No BS: this year has been *almost* as crazy as its predecessors. Life has finally returned to “normal,” and while our daily routine feels familiar, it also feels foreign. We mean, we’re back in the office after a two-year hiatus, we’re traveling again, and we’ve even returned to in-store shopping. All of this came with a new-found need for do-it-all beauty products that can keep up with our busy schedules. Long-lasting, multi-tasking heroes re-entered the chat, and skincare overachievers that do the most became our besties. Of course, we knew we had to share the best beauty product we tried, tested, and loved this year. Seriously, these babies got us through all the ups, downs, and demands of 2022.
Here are the 2022 beauty G.O.A.T.s…
The Best Makeup Products of 2022
e.l.f. Halo Glow Liquid Filter, $14
We’re kicking off this round-up with one of the best drugstore dupes of 2022. She’s a dupe of the cult glow-getter: Charlotte Tilbury’s Hollywood Flawless Filter, $46, but she’s $32 less. Just like the OG, she’s a lightweight skincare-makeup hybrid that adds a luminous glow to any look while blurring imperfections and smoothing textures. She’s also enriched with porcelain flower extract that hydrates and brightens the skin over time. Oh, and she’s the ultimate multi-tasker: she can be worn alone, underneath foundation, mixed with complexion formulas, or used as a highlighter.
Huda Beauty Easy Bake Loose Setting Powder in Cherry Blossom, $35
Okay, so all of you Huda Beauty STANS out there will know our Easy Bake Loose Setting Powder is not a new product. In fact, it’s been gaining a loyal following for the past four years. However, this year, we added a soft pink shade to the family, which went majorly VIRAL – we cannot keep this baby in stock! Not only does the finely milled powder set and snatch your makeup with an airbrushed finish, but the pink undertone also cancels out dark circles and creates a harmonious final look, especially when worn with blush. Seriously, run don’t walk to get this baby while you can. Get the full scoop on the magic of pink powder here.
Benefit Blush WANDERful World Silky-Soft Powder Blush, $27.50
While we’re on the topic of blush, let us clap for one of the best drops of the year: the Benefit Blush WANDERful range. Back in May, Benefit dropped twelve shades in their brand new-and-improved blush formula. The long-wear, triple-milled powder has literally the silkiest texture that delivers a rosy glow. Oh, and it’s also smudge-proof, sweatproof, humidity-proof, and non-comedogenic. No matter whether you’re a matte, shimmer, or satin blush lover, there’s something in this collection for you. Huda Beauty #FauxFilter Luminous Matte Concealer, $29
We know we’re biased, but this concealer ticks every box… creaseless? Check. Buildable coverage? Check. Seamless application? Check. Longlasting? Check. Hydrating? Check. The luminous matte concealer literally goes above and beyond. Case closed. Whether you want medium or full coverage, you can build and blend the formula your way.
Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Skin Serum Foundation, $46
Danessa wasn’t lyin’ when she called this serum foundation yummy, it’s DELICIOUS! The skin-loving formula offers medium, buildable coverage that applies effortlessly, leaving your skin with lit-from-within kinda glow. Infused with hydrating heroes like hyaluronic acid, jojoba oil, and olive-derived squalane, it also delivers a surge of restorative moisture to the skin.
The Best Skincare Products of 2022
Pillow Talk Derm Major Fade Hyper Serum, $68
We’ve been following Shereene Idriss, AKA the pillow talk derm, for years, so when she finally dropped her own skincare line, we held our breath in anticipation. Of course, it does not disappoint, and this serum is a stand-out formula. Powered with alpha arbutin and kojic acid, it improves the appearance of uneven tone and dark spots while niacinamide and glycerin work together to strengthen the skin barrier and seal in hydration. Finally, diglucosyl gallic acid tackles redness, leaving you with an even, radiant glow. The serum blends in like a dream and really works wonders to brighten and even the complexion.
Hyper Skin Fade and Glow AHA Mask, $48
You may recognize the brand Hyper Skin, as we’ve been raving about their Brightening Dark Spot Vitamin C Serum, $36, for… well.. ever! The latest edition to their lineup is an exfoliating mask fueled by mandelic acid, glycolic acid, and niacinamide, which combine to tackle uneven skin tone, smooth texture, minimize the appearance of pores, and soften fine lines and wrinkles. And very importantly, it doesn’t dry out your skin but instead leaves you with a show-stopping glow.
DWB Bowe Glowe™ Microbiome Nourishing Cream, $95
Dr. Whitney Bowe is a board-certified dermatologist with a mantra we can get behind: the mind-gut connection to the skin. Her newly launched brand DWB Beauty takes a holistic skincare approach and one of our fave products in her collection is this nourishing moisturizer. Formulated with ceramides, squalane, hyaluronic acid, and a powerful blend of prebiotics and postbiotics, it strengthens your skin barrier, locking in hydration and defending it from environmental aggressors. Use this day and night, and your skin will get to its healthiest and glowiest state.
