5 Products That Will Take Down Booty Spots & Bacne
Chances are at one point in your life you’ll experience booty spots, bacne or chestne aka body acne. And while it can be pretty damn annoying and sometimes painful, don’t stress as it’s super common and often, it is possible to get rid of. By making a few small changes to your routine and by using the right products, you can help soothe and calm your skin. So the next time a breakout hits, take those booty spots down with these products:
1. Neutrogena Body Clear Body Wash, $10
This drugstore body wash is a must-have if you’re prone to booty spots. The formula contains 2% salicylic acid; a potent BHA that exfoliates the skin and dissolves the glue that binds dead skin cells, which block your pores. It also helps lower oil production, and as it has anti-inflammatory properties that soothes existing pimples.
We use this every time we shower, and we noticed that in just three weeks there was an improvement in the number of pimples and that any existing pimples cleared up much more quickly. Tip: When washing, lather this up and let it sit for up to a minute on your skin before rinsing.
2. Murad Clarifying Body Spray, $46
This potent formula contains salicylic acid, which is oil-soluble and can penetrate deep into pores and target the breakout as well as reduce the ongoing cycle. It also contains miracle ingredient niacinamide, a water-soluble version of Vitamin B, which is a powerful antioxidant. Niacinamide will work to soothe and calm the breakout while balancing oil production to prevent any new pimples from popping up. We also love that it’s a spray: it’s so easy to use and you can reach all those awkward angles!
3. Shea Moisture African Black Soap Body Wash, $10
As soon as we discovered African black soap, we’ve been obsessed with its acne-busting abilities! First of all, it contains antibacterial lauric acid, which kills any acne-inducing bacteria, as well as oats that contain saponins that extract excess oil and dirt from your pores, and hydrating and soothing aloe vera and Vitamin E. Check out this post for more info on the powers of black soap.

4. Nip + Fab Glycolic Exfoliating Pads, $15
These toning pads pack a serious punch! Despite being designed for the face, they work wonders on body acne. Each pad is soaked in glycolic acid to rebalance and retexturize the skin, hyaluronic acid for a surge of hydration, as well as blue daises to soothe irritation. They’re perfect for when you’re on the go – if you’re a gym bunny and are therefore more prone to booty spots, carry these in your bag, and use one after each workout.
5. Bioderma Body Wash Soap Free Shower Gel, $25
This shower gel is perfect if you have sensitive, acne-prone skin as it’s hypoallergenic, soap-free, and free of parabens and artificial colors. Even though it isn’t targeted specifically for acne, we’ve been using it for years and it keeps our skin clear and calm.
Alternatively, you can also use an AHA toner that you have at home to target body acne. So, if we run out of our go-to body products, we apply a toner (like our Inkey List Glycolic Acid Liquid Toner, $12) onto a cotton pad and wipe it across problem areas.
