How To Multi-Mask With ALL Your Hair Products
Hey my loves! Throughout all the craziness that’s happening, at least one positive is that I’ve been able to spend more time on my beauty routine. One major change has been my hair – I cannot believe how much healthier my hair feels in just a month. I haven’t been styling or using any heat, instead, I’ve been multi-masking, and it has completely transformed my hair!
Hair Multi-Masking: How it Works
So, I wanted to talk to you guys all about hair multi-masking, which is honestly a major game-changer for your hair. Kinda like in skincare when you apply a hydrating mask to your cheeks and a clay mask to target oily areas, multi-masking for your hair is the same concept. Often your scalp and roots have different issues to your hair ends, so by using different masks in different areas, you can target both in one go.
For example, for dry or split ends, use a super hydrating mask in the middle-lengths and ends of your hair, and if you have an oily scalp, use a clarifying treatment just on your scalp and the top of your hair, and do both at the same time! The other great thing is you don’t have to go out and buy more products, you can use whatever you have at home, and if you don’t have any hair masks or scalp scrubs, then I’m going to show you how you can transform the hair products and ingredients you do have into bomb-ass masks to target different hair issues.

My Multi-Masking Hair Routine
For my ends: Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Leave-In Conditioner (16oz), $14. I love how nourishing this is and how effectively it softens and smooths my ends.
For the top of my hair and throughout: Brigeo Don’t Despair, Repair!™ Deep Conditioning Hair Mask, $36. The texture is a bit lighter so it’s great for the top of my hair where heavier products can tend to make my hair greasy faster. The formula is packed with B vitamins, rosehip oil, argan oil, collagen, and silk that strengthens and conditions the hair, which makes it look SO shiny.
For my scalp: Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub with Sea Salt, $53 or Christophe Robin Cleansing Volumizing Paste with Pure Rassoul Clay and Rose Extracts, $53. I’m also low-key obsessed with scalp scrubs – hair health starts at the scalp – so every couple of weeks I love to use a scalp scrub and pair it with a rich conditioner for my ends.
For all-over: Kopari Coconut Melt, $28 and Cantu Leave-In Conditioning Shea Butter Mist, $6. Coconut oil is basically my all-time fave ingredient and I use it for everything! This organic Kopari coconut oil is one of my faves and I use this all over my hair. If I want to deep condition my hair but can’t be bothered to get my masks out, sometimes I just spray the Cantu spray all over my hair, then follow with the Kopari Coconut Melt.
How to Multi-Mask with No Hair Masks!
Okay, so if you don’t have different hair masks, there are so many ways you can use the products you do have to deep condition and multi-mask!
For your ends: Wet your hair and lightly towel dry, then apply twice as much conditioner as you would normally use and slather this onto the mid-lengths and ends of your hair. You can also use a nourishing hair cream or coconut oil in the same way. Now choose whether you want to use something clarifying on your scalp and roots, then tie up your hair and leave the DIY mask in your hair for at least 30 minutes – I leave mine in for hours sometimes! Bonus points if you apply a hair cap (or use clingwrap) and then a towel, as this helps to lock in moisture and encourage product penetration.
For your roots: Depending on whether your scalp and roots gets oily or dry, there are tons of different scrubs you can create using ingredients you have in your kitchen. If you have thick or curly hair and don’t tend to get oily roots, then massage coconut oil into your scalp (and all over if you like), and let it sit for 30 mins before washing as usual.
If you tend to get oily roots, you have to try one of these DIY scalp scrubs that will help to detox, cleanse, and replenish the scalp. If dandruff and flakes are a problem, try mixing up apple cider vinegar with some clay (like the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay, $10) until it makes a runny paste, then brush it into your scalp in sections. Leave it on for 15 minutes before washing as normal.
Have you guys ever tried doing this before? I honestly feel like it’s the best way to mask! Let me know what you guys like to use in the comments.
