10 Makeup Products That Work For All Skin Tones (From $5!)
The beauty world is finally becoming more inclusive and we’re beginning to see shade ranges that actually reflect the beautiful array of skin tones we have all over the world. Gone are the days of a ten shade foundation range! We’re rounding up our fave products that have an extensive shade range to give them the hype they deserve. Check it out:
1. Morphe Fluidity Full-Coverage Foundation, $18
When Morphe announced they were releasing a 60-shade range, the beauty world stood up and gave them a (virtual) round of applause. And the foundation is just as noteworthy; it’s matte, full coverage, plus it’s long-wearing, transfer-resistant, and water-resistant. There are five shade brackets in total: rich, deep, tan, medium, and light, with each range covering multiple undertones (warm, cool, neutral, and olive). As the shade range is so extensive, we do recommend you try it on in-store if you can. For more deets on the collection, which also includes a 31 shade concealer and 15 shade setting powder, read our full review.

2. L.A. Girl Concealer Pro.HD Conceal
If you’re looking for a drugstore concealer, L.A. Girl is a great affordable option. The crease-resistant concealer offers intense coverage that will brighten your undereye in seconds. The formula is really creamy and blends out really well without creasing, which is a must! The collection also includes a selection of color correctors so if you have any pigmentation or dark spots, you can cancel out unwanted tones. There’s also a rich collection of color correctors to cater to the needs of different skin tones, for example, they have orange to neutralize dark spots in deep skin tones and mint-green to cancel out redness in fair skin tones.

3. Mented Nude Lipsticks
The term nude is often wrongly associated with a pinky-peach shade, when actually, the term nude defines a color that matches your skin tone. Founders and Harvard graduates KJ Miller and Amanda Jonson decided to take action and finally correct this misrepresentation. In 2017, they released their OG lipstick range featuring nine nude lip shades to flatter all skin tones. They also offer a range of finishes from matte to semi-matte and glosses. We love their mattes; they’re super creamy, long-wearing and extremely comfortable. Since then, they’ve expanded their range to include eyeshadow palettes and an amazing blush range that’s super pigmented and works well on all skin tones.

4. Maybelline New York Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation, $8
If you’re a regular on HudaBeauty.com, you’ll know we’re a huge fan of the Fit Me foundation; it’s been our drugstore go-to for years. The formula is insane, especially if you have oily skin; it instantly mattifies without looking cakey and is super comfortable on the skin. It also contains micro-powders to help blur imperfections and pores, while also absorbing any excess oil. And most importantly, unlike other drugstore ranges that offer 12 shades (thank you, next), it offers 40 shades from Fair Porcelain to Espresso.

5. Huda Beauty 3D Highlighter Palette, $45
Our 3D Highlighter Collection offers a snatched highlighter for every skin tone: Pink Sands for fair to medium skin tones, Golden Sands for medium and tan skin tones, and Bronze Sands for tan to rich skin tones. Each palette features two different textures, a cream-base highlighter that melts into the skin (top left), and three powder highlighters that can be layered to create a 3D effect. Check out our fave highlighter hack; you’ll be able to see that glow from outer space… For real!

6. Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection Foundation, $68
This foundation has to be one of the most highly anticipated releases of the year. Pat McGrath, makeup artist to the high fashion elite and Hollywood A-listers, is known for creating stunning skin on her celeb-clientele, so naturally, when she dropped a 36-shade foundation range, it came through. The light to medium coverage foundation has a natural, skin-like finish and is easily buildable. The formula also contains the Vita-Serum complex, which helps fight the formation of wrinkles while the diamond core powder technology blurs and smoothes out the skin. Pat McGrath explained: “36 [shades] is the amount that I need to reach all skin tones and skin colors at this moment.” And TBH if there’s one MUA that knows, it’s Pat McGrath.

7. Huda Beauty Overachiever Concealer
Our super full-coverage concealer will take your eyes from hella-tired to fresh AF. The formula is infused with green tea to give your under eyes a surge of energy while the cool tip applicator helps immediately depuff. Once we perfected the formula, we spent months creating a shade range that would be super diverse without being too overwhelming; the result is a 20-shade range that spans from ultra-rich to super fair.

8. Milani Amore Matte Lip Crème, $11
It’s not always easy to find lip colors that work all the way along the shade spectrum, especially within the drugstore aisle. However, the Milani Amore Matte Lip Crème has a range of super pigmented matte lipsticks that come through on every skin tone and look ultra-flattering. The transfer-proof formula feels really comfortable as it’s infused with shea butter and soybean oil to hydrate the lip, plus it only costs $9! We’ll take the full collection.

9. Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Foundation
Fenty has been committed to being inclusive from the beginning! It’s OG foundation had 40 shades, which they have now expanded to 50 shades, plus it comes with a matching concealer. In the past month, Riri has delivered another variation of the Pro Filt’r foundation, catered for dry to normal skin with a luminous finish (the OG was a matte finish for normal to oily skin). Both are made with climate-adaptive technology so they’re sweat-proof and humidity proof – and we’ve tested that claim in Dubai! 10. MAC Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 Foundation
MAC was one of the first beauty brands to have a truly diverse shade range, and they’re still constantly adding and improving their collections. Last year MAC extended their Studio Fix Matte Foundation so that it now totals 60 shades, along with their Studio Fix Concealer (33 shades) and their Powder Plus Foundation (53 shades), while also adding nine shades to their loose Perfecting Powder Line. But back to the MAC Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 Foundation, a medium to full coverage formula with a natural matte finish that’s been a beauty staple for years. It doesn’t settle into fine lines, and it maintains its wear all day long. If you prefer lighter coverage, try mixing it with a drop of moisturizer – it blends out like a dream.
