Body Care's FINALLY Having A Moment & These Are Must-Trys!
Last year, in an article by Well And Good, beauty writer Zoe Weiner forecast that in 2022, body care routines would start looking a WHOLE lot like spenny and intricate facials. Fast forward to now, and it seems like her prediction was spot on, as we’re seeing hoards of big-name beauty brands dip their toes in the body care sphere just in time for summer. So we figured, why not round up a few newbie (and fuss-worthy) body scrubs, creams, oils, and tonics that will have you looking fresh, bright, and glisten-y from the chin down.
1. Topicals High Roller Ingrown Tonic, $26
The Topicals team does it again with a new skincare cocktail that not only understood the assignment but over excelled. If the hundreds and thousands of positive online reviews are anything to go by, this adorably packaged gem is a bathroom cabinet must-have.
Formulated with salicylic acid, niacinamide, glycolic acid and zinc, this fragrance-free tonic gently exfoliates skin while clearing up congested pores to help put a halt to pesky bumps and ingrown hairs. It also works wonders for razor burn as it soothes any post-shave irritation and inflammation while brightening the appearance of existing dark spots as well.
2. BODY by TPH Baby Buff’d Exfoliating Body Scrub & Brightening Polish, $12
Taraji combines the perks of both a chemical and physical exfoliator in this luxe formulation. In it, you’ll find the ultimate combo of skin brightening and softening ingredients like niacinamide, lactic acid, glycolic acid, rice powder, and bakuchiol for a total skin tone and texture overhaul. This ultra-fine polish can be used all over, from your back, thighs, arms, and legs. For best results, massage firmly in ‘upward circular motions’ for a baby soft finish that looks post-spa-like.
3. Humanrace Humidifying Body Cream, $54
Ever traveled to a tropical destination and noticed your skin’s glowiness flourish? Well, Pharrell’s hydrating body cream provides that same humidifying effect thanks to three standout skin-plumping and barrier-boosting ingredients (bakuchiol, snow mushroom extract, and peptides) that lock and load moisture into the skin, leaving it gorgeously supple and firm.

4. Kate Somerville ExfoliKate™ Resurfacing Body Scrub, $56
Another body scrub that’s worth ALL of your coins… this 3-in-1 treatment works as a scrub, peel, AND mask with the most delicious mix of skin-renewing and revitalizing ingredients like pumice, caffeine, honey, and aloe with fruit enzymes and salicylic and lactic acids for ultra-smooth buffing.
5. Summer Fridays Pool Time Glowing Body Oil, $38
This nourishing and illuminating oil will let your body channel a golden hour glow from AM to PM. It consists of a decadent blend of natural oils like macadamia, jojoba, apricot, and sunflower to give your skin a boost of vitamins and fatty acids that’ll alleviate dryness and improve your skin barrier function. Also, its scent is beyond addictive, with soft notes of coconut, vanilla blossom, and warm almond.
6. Sol de Janeiro Beija Flor™ Elasti-Cream with Collagen and Squalane, $48
Sol de Janeiro is all about that face-to-toe skincare philosophy — incorporating a few facial ingredients we know you love into this rich and cushiony body cream for all-over skin smoothness and plumpiness. Its star ingredients include cacao oil, a great retinol alternative, with plant collagen to rev cellular turnover and bring some youthful bounce, too.
7. Moroccanoil Body Lotion Moisturizer, $28
Moroccanoil recently expanded their body care collection to include this beautiful, fragrant body lotion designed to combat dry, dull, and uneven skin. Despite its airy feel, it still offers top-tier hydration due to its blend of nourishing oils and extracts like aloe, argan, and Tsubaki. There are six scents to choose from, but we’re fans of their OG offering, which features notes of amber, magnolia, and woods.
If body care’s a little pricey and you’re saving up, here are our fave drugstore body lotions (from $11).
