This Makeup Trio Has Been Getting Us TONS Of Compliments Lately
As makeup junkies, there’s nothing more glorious than getting compliments from strangers on our makeup looks, and recently, there’s one particular style that keeps getting attention. Just last week at a bar, we were asked what products we used to create our “fresh and glowy makeup.” Obviously, because we’re the queens of doing too much, what could’ve been a five-minute conversation turned into a beauty TED Talk with a quick product demo, of course – sharing is caring y’all!
Consider this look our take on the minimalist makeup trend – fresh-faced, dewy, and gorgeously bronzed with a 90s juicy brown lip to finish off.
Step 1: A quick cover-up
If you haven’t tried our Huda Beauty #FauxFilter Luminous Matte Concealer, $29, boy, you are missing out! It’s SO good that we often ditch our foundation entirely and just use this little tube of goodness to brighten and conceal our skin.
First things first, conceal the under eyes using the three-dot method…
Next, to lift the outer eyes, drag the doe-foot applicator of the concealer from the outermost dot upwards, and then do the same on the sides of the nostrils, lower corners of the mouth, and underneath the cheekbones. When you’re ready to blend, do so outwards with a damp beauty sponge (and in light tapping motions), then bake these areas with some loose powder.
Step 2: Time to get sun-kissed!
While your powder does its thing, grab your GloWish Soft Radiance Bronzing Powder, $31, and, with a bronzer brush, apply some to the corners of your forehead, temples, cheekbones, and jaw.
FYI: our GloWish bronzing powder also works as a gorgeous eyeshadow shade, too!
Swirl an eye blending brush onto the powder and sweep the warm color across your lids, then diffuse the darker pigments across your crease and up, towards the tail of your brow, for subtle definition. We also like to extend this shadow to the outer corner of the lower lash line to enhance the eye lift effect created by the concealer. When you’re done blending, add ample mascara to the outer lashes for a flirty feline smize.
Step 3: Create some edible-looking apples
We love love love dewy cheeks, and our Huda Beauty Cheeky Tint Blush Stick, $25, creates the most beautiful and juicy-looking flush. With a firm buffing brush, apply the color on the apples of your cheeks and buff upwards across the cheekbones. If you don’t have a brush in hand, no stress, your fingertips will do!
Step 4: Add blush to the nose
We know, it sounds crazy, but after seeing this all over social media and trying it out ourselves, we’ve been obsessed ever since. TikTokers call it the ‘W Blush’ technique, which basically means applying blush color over the bridge of your nose for a monochromatic makeup finish that also looks adorable as hell! Instead of blush, we prefer to use our GloWish Soft Radiance Bronzing Powder, as this creates a radiant, sun-kissed finish that leaves you looking like you just pulled up from a dreamy tropical island vacay.
