The beauty of makeup is it can be used in endlessly creative ways, and thankfully, we have social media to share the art that is makeup. The latest killa concept? Using concealer to carve out a fierce winged liner look. Yup, TikTokers have kicked basic black eyeliners to the curb and have instead opted for concealers, our trusty hide-and-seekers. Prepare yourself – this is no ordinary liner look. Beauty baddie and trendsetter, MUA May Akhtar designed the #transparenteyeliner look with some now-you-see-me, now-you-don’t magic, earning 1.1M TikTok views. In case you’ve missed out, her stripped-bare version of the classic wing doesn’t use the standard black eyeliner – no, it uses concealer to create the sharpest wing of your dreams.

The lesson here? Don’t limit your concealers to hiding dark circles and snatching your cheekbones – they can do a whole lot more! Next, prime your lids with an eyeshadow primer for long-lasting wear. Then, use a flat angled brush dipped in concealer and draw a thin line, starting from your lower lash line towards the tail end of your brow. Connect the line to the center of your eye to create an empty wing shape. To finish, gently pat the concealer into the skin and then blend outwards for a seamless finish.
