Why I Love Using This Drugstore Brow Gel
It’s no secret that I’m literally obsessed with brows, but I’m also a total sucker for a brow trend. Needless to say, my brows – like many of yours – have been on a journey over the past 10 years. From the skinny brow to the HD Instagram brow and most recently, laminated lion brows.
To achieve a full, feathered brow, I always use the Huda Beauty #BOMBBROWS Microshade Brow Pencil, $25, as it has the tiniest pencil that allows you to create really natural, hair-like strokes. However, I also rely on a brow gel to lift and lock my hairs in place. I’m not even kidding when I say that one of the best strong-hold gels I’ve ever used is the NYX Professional Makeup The Brow Glue Instant Brow Styler, $8. It actually rivals the likes of Anatasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze Styling Wax, $23, it’s that good! Here’s everything you need to know.
What it is: A transparent gel with a precise round bristle brush for easy application. The strong-hold gel formula is flake-resistant, non-sticky, and dries down with a natural finish. It’s also 100% waterproof and transfer-proof. Plus, like all NYX Professional Makeup Products, it’s vegan and cruelty-free.
What it does: This brow glue will comb through your brows and set the hairs in place for 16 hours. It has a natural yet glossy finish, giving you that coveted laminated look.
What I liked: As soon as I applied this formula to my brows, I was SO impressed. True to its name, it’s definitely more of glue than a gel as it has a thicker consistency than other brow gels I’ve tried. My brows were immediately lifted – I actually had to brush them down a little to achieve a polished finish. As soon as they were dry, I could feel that they were locked in place and they didn’t budge for the rest of the day.
What I didn’t like: As the formula is so thick, it did feel quite heavy on my skin and my brows felt a little hard. While I’m a huge fan of a clear gel, I’d also love to see this formula with a variety of tinted shades.

Application Tips
For a lifted look: Back-comb your brow with a spoolie to tame and shape. Then, brush the hair upwards from root to tip in small sections with NYX Brow Glue, and you’re done!
For a freshly laminated finish: Brush your hairs upwards until you’re happy with the desired shape. Then, take a tool with a flat edge like a pair of tweezers, and use the flat edge to push your brow hairs up further and press them in place onto the skin. This will help lift and set the brows for a more exaggerated, feathered finish.
