1. How to Achieve a Sexy Lip Stain

Natural glam has dominated beauty for the past few years and continues to re-emerge under a new alias every couple of months, from yoga skin to TikTok’s clean look. One of the most popular lip lewks for a no-makeup makeup look is a just-bitten lip tint or stain, which is actually super easy to fake using a liquid lipstick like our Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick, $20. Plus it lasts a lot longer than traditional lip stains. We love to use a  berry hue (shoutout to shades Drama Mama, Famous, Sweet Talker, and Trophy Wife) and a touch of highlighter to create a sexy lip look in seconds. Here’s a quick step-by-step.

Step 1: Apply a small amount of liquid lipstick to the center of your lips, then press your lips together.

Step 2: Smudge the lipstick across your lips using your finger.

Step 3: Re-apply the lipstick to the center of your lips and blot your lips with your finger.

Step 4: To finish, dab a cream highlighter along your Cupid’s bow and the center of your bottom lip.

2. How To Fake A ‘Lip Flip’ Using Lip Liner

Mario Dedivanovic. AKA Makeup By Mario, is famed for his contouring, lifting, and sculpting skills, so it’s no surprise that his most recent ‘lip flip’ hack has gone viral. The lip lining hack is incredibly simple and mimics the recent Botox trend that involves injecting botox to lift your lip and shorten the gap between your top lip and your nose, thereby faking the appearance of a lifted, fuller pout. Here’s his step-by-step technique:

Step 1: For fuller-looking lips, slightly overline the center of your upper lip, paying special attention to the Cupid’s bow using a nude-for-you lip liner.

Step 2: For a lifting effect, slightly overline the center of the bottom lip line then extend the liner upwards, towards the outer corners of the mouth, moving the liner inside the lip line.

Step 3: Softly diffuse and blend the lip liner from the corners towards the center of your lip.

Step 4: Fill in your lips using a lipstick of your choice.

Pro Tip: Give your lips the ultimate lift by applying a dab of foundation or concealer to a dense brush, then clean up the edges of the lower lip so the liner is super crisp. Set the concealer with translucent powder for long-lasting wear.

Okay, when we discovered this lipstick hack a few months ago, it quickly become a staple technique for a full beat in a hurry. It’s ideal for when you don’t have time for precision. The process does look a little silly but the result of flawless lipstick with no smudging is totally worth it.

Step 1: Tightly press your lips together, so you’re left with only your taughtened outer lip line on display.

Step 2: Apply your lip liner while your lips are still pressed together.

Step 3: Apply your lipstick, once again, while your lips are still pressed together.

Step 4: Relax your lips and you’ll have flawlessly applied evenly-lined lipstick.
