Peach Is The Ingredient Your Skin Desperately Needs This Winter
We know what you’re thinking: isn’t peach like, a summer fruit? Well yes, but it turns out the sweet stone fruit has been hiding some majorrr beauty benefits and seriously moisturizing qualities, which obviously can help with dry AF winter skin
“Peach extract is a luxe ingredient that packs a powerful cocktail of anti-aging advantages for skin,” says Peach & Lily founder Alicia Yoon. “It includes natural forms of vitamin A to firm up skin and improve dark spots, superstar antioxidant vitamin C to help fade scarring and fight free radicals, vitamin E to protect our skin from environmental stressors, as well as vitamins B and K, minerals, fatty acids, and more antioxidants to increase brightening and decrease hyperpigmentation. And it contains calcium, which helps to turn skin cells over.”
That last one is reason enough to incorporate peach into your routine STAT, if you ask us. As Yoon points out, our cell turnover process slows down as we age, so anything we can do to boost that count – in an effort to keep our skin looking radiant and our pores clear – is key.
“Peach is an ingredient that’s not acidic or harsh, so unless you know you have a specific allergy to peaches, there are no specific skin types that need to avoid it,” adds Yoon. “And it’s easily recognized and understood by skin, versus non-bio-compatible synthetic ingredients.”

So what types of products can you find mighty peach in? According to Jessica Kim, director of product development and merchandising for Soko Glam, you’ll typically find peach extract in moisturizers and serums, due to the positives listed above, but also because of its super hydrating properties. “Peach kernel is sometimes used in skincare as well, since it’s full of fatty acids that help your skin retain moisture,” she adds.
Peach Products We Love:
Peach & Lily Glass Skin Refining Serum, $39
Peach & Lily’s bestselling hero product has developed a cult following for a few reasons. For starters, it provides a glass-like, poreless canvas for other skincare layering (plus makeup), it’s incredibly hydrating, and it protects against free radical damage, thanks to a potent super blend of peach extract, niacinamide, East Asian mountain yam, madecassoside, peptides, and hyaluronic acid. And, even though one would think it would be sticky, or greasy – given its texture – it’s the opposite: lightweight, silky, and fast-absorbing. So, our ideal serum TBH.
Murad Hydrating Toner, $34
Mists are great and all – for short-lived relief and a burst of moisture – but most dissipate after mere seconds. Think of this ultra-hydrating, alcohol-free toner as a next-level mist that will balance your skin’s natural pH, while lifting impurities at the same time. Peach and cucumber extracts also soothe irritation – softening the skin – and Sodium PCA helps replenish water loss.
Saturday Skin’s Rise and Shine Purifying Cleanser, $26
Peach and apple extract join forces with a Cha-7 es peptide complex in Saturday Skin’s frothy foam cleanser that blasts away dirt and sebum, without stripping the skin of natural oils. The vegan formula also works to improve the texture and tone of the skin and offers crazy moisturizing benefits that linger even after you wash your face.
Tony Moly I’m Peach Sheet Mask, $4
This Korean skincare brand fave has a sheet mask we’re pretty peachy keen about. Tony Moly’s 3-layer pulp sheet is soaked in natural peach extract to transform a dull, lifeless complexion and revive it into healthy, moisturized skin in 20 minutes. Plus, these little packets are budget and travel-friendly and definitely come in handy when you’re working on your self-care in the air.
Tatcha The Kissu Lip Mask, $28
If you’re a die-hard Tatcha fan, then you know the love is real for their Kiss Lip Mask – and so was the need for it to come back. After a 12-month hiatus (to regrow their crop of peaches, NBD), it is back, however, and better than ever. This high-efficacy, leave-on jelly lip treatment can be worn solo, over or under other lip products, but the real draw (besides that fact that it feels heavenly on) is that quenches parched pouts, especially when left on overnight. Its star ingredient is Japanese white peach, a natural, (under-utilized) anti-inflammatory that helps repair, revitalize, and calm damaged or irritated lips. The lip mask will be available starting January 1st.
