This $20 Blush Palette Is The Key To The Perfect Summer Flush

MR7A9871-edited copyFor me, Morphe is one of those brands that I just know won’t disappoint me. They consistently create amazing quality products at super accessible prices and are constantly innovating with on-trend collections and color schemes. I actually included a blush palette from Morphy in a beauty box I curated for Cult Beauty a couple of years ago, and I’ve loved their formulas ever since. Their latest drop is a collection of blush palettes, blush trios, and highlighters, and they’re literally perfect for summer.

Morphe Pro Blush Palette, $20

What it is: A blush palette containing eight stunning blush shades in matte, shimmer, and satin finishes. Choose from 8C Cool (below left) or 8W Warm (below right), for the perfect collection of shades to suit your skin’s undertone.

The Blush Formula: The formulas aren’t super pigmented, but that’s actually a good thing in my opinion, as softer pigmentation limits the possibility of going overboard. The formula picks up smoothly on both synthetic and natural brushes and gives a really gorgeous flush that looks super romantic and natural. The pearl shimmers are really beautiful and add a very subtle hint of color that isn’t overwhelming. Their ideal for the tops of cheekbones, while the mattes are slightly more pigmented and are perfect for adding a pop of color to the apples of your cheeks.

What we thought: This is definitely an essential for me – there’s just so many choices! It makes a big difference to have such a huge collection of shades, and I love that Morphe created a warm and a cool toned palette. There’s a good selection of mattes and shimmers in both palettes, and the diversity of shades is really impressive, as there’s a shade to suit every look. I’m also a strong believer in matching the tone of your blush with your lipstick – like coral lips and coral blush or pink lips and pink blush – as I think it creates great color harmony; these palettes definitely make that possible.

Morphe Blushing Babes Trio, $12

What it is: A trio of blushes in seven different shade combinations. Each palette includes a creamy blush matte shade and a fairer and deeper shade. The blush trios come in seven shade collections: Pop of Fuchsia, Pink, Rose, Coral, Poppy, Blush, and Peach.

What we thought: Morphe did a really good job putting colors together in the trio palettes, and the shades work together beautifully. As each palette has a vivid shade for blush and then two more muted tones, one lighter and one darker, they can be used to highlight and add depth to the cheekbones – kind of like a subtle contour.

Morphe High Impact Highlighter, $12

What it is: A creamy highlighter that delivers high-impact shine in six prismatic shades: Stardust, Spark, Extra, Lit, Mirage, and Boom.

What we thought: These offer a really radiant glow that is totally customizable; you can get a subtle sun-kissed glow or you can build them up for more drama. The formula is very creamy and goes on smoothly with a brush and blends out beautifully. I wish there were some more rosy shades, but I’m living for the bronze shades (Extra, Mirage, Spark, and Boom), which look divine on deeper skin tones. They also work really well to give your skin an all-over glow – just swirl a fluffy brush in the highlighter and lightly dust over your face. Stardust (bottom right) and Lit (above center) will suit fair skin tones best, and Stardust has a beautiful, angelic pink iridescence, without any white cast. I love that the cases have a mirror as well, so they’re perfect for summer vacay.

The verdict

I really love the Morphe Pro Blush Palette and the Blushing Babes Trio, but I’m totally obsessed with the palettes – for $20 you get eight shades, which is insane!
