Why 2019 Has Been The Craziest Year Ever!

2019 has been our craziest year, on record! I know I say that every year and that will probably never change! But for real, this year has been absolutely INSANE and it’s all down to you guys, so firstly I wanted to start by saying a huge thank you to all of you for your support, and send my love to every single one of you!
When my sister Alya told me we had reached 40 million followers on Instagram, I couldn’t believe it, I was in shock. It made me think back to just a few years ago when my family and I were packing our first every product, our lashes, by hand in my living room. Then again, when I think about how much we’ve achieved this year, it makes that seem even further away… From Huda Boss Season 2 to insane photo shoots, being on the cover of Vogue India and Vogue Arabia with my daughter, to meeting you all at Beautycon. I just can’t get over how incredible this year has been! Here are some of my 2019 highlights.
The Photo Shoots

I feel like one of the biggest team achievements has to be our photo shoots, and this year we have really stepped up our game. The makeup, the hair, the costumes, the set designers, the photographers; everything has been scaled up to a whole new level! I can’t lie, the process for our Mercury Retrograde shoot was intense; my hairpiece was so heavy I could barely lift my head (and it gave me a bald spot!), I changed three times, I was suspended in the air, but it all came together and was SO worth it, and I’m so proud of my team for what they accomplished.

2019 has been a big year for Huda Beauty and we’ve released SO many innovative products. And I couldn’t go through my 2019 highlights without mentioning the product that literally lit up my year: N.Y.M.P.H., our incredible body highlighter – I’d literally bathe in it if I could. And of course, there wouldn’t be highlight without contour, which leads me to Tantour, our luxurious bronzing, contouring cream-to-powder bronzer.
Then, of course, there’s our eyeshadows, where we really let our creativity flow: from our new Matte and Metal Melted Shadows to all our palettes, from our Neon to our Nude Obsessions palettes, and of course, our 2019 18-pan palette (drumroll please), Mercury Retrograde. And that’s not all, we can’t forget the 24 Power Bullet Matte Lipsticks, and our FIRST EVER eyeliner, the Life Liner Duo Pencil & Liquid Eyeliner. As I said, it’s been a BIG year.
The Vogue Covers

This year I also shot not one but two covers for Vogue; one for Vogue Arabia and another for Vogue India. My first cover, for Vogue Arabia, was made even more special because I got to shoot it with my daughter Nour, and my sister Mona. I know this sounds cheesy but I’ve been obsessed with Vogue since I was a little girl and so to be on the cover, it was one of those pinch-me moments. I felt like I was dreaming and I’m so happy with my Vogue India shoot, which was like nothing I’ve ever done before!

The Pop-Up
I’ve been obsessed with London for so long, and I just knew that’s where we had to have our first pop-up! I’m so proud of my team, who created the most insane pop-up in London’s Covent Garden! It was so amazing to be able to give you guys a true Huda Beauty shopping experience and I couldn’t believe we had queues outside the entire time!
The Events

We also had so many incredible events this year. I absolutely loved traveling to LA to attend this year’s Beautycon, and I’ve got to admit, it was so much more emotional than I could have imagined. It was just so humbling to meet everyone, and the feeling of love and energy in the room is something I’ll never forget.
We also hosted an amazing party for our Mercury Retrograde palette launch and a super fun event to celebrate the launch of our second Huda Boss Series!

This year we also wrapped up another season of Huda Boss. After season 1, I wasn’t sure if we’d do another but the response it received was so overwhelming that I knew we had to do another one. I hope you guys loved watching our journey and hopefully learned a bit about the beauty industry on the way!
I couldn’t have done any of this without the support of my wonderful family and my amazing team, and I am so grateful for having them by my side. And to you, my incredible Huda Beauty family, thank you all so much for your support, it really does mean everything to me! x
