Drugstore Product Of The Week: This Oil-Controlling Moisturizer Is The Ultimate Skin Hero
What do we want? Amazing products that don’t break the bank. Income one of our fave brands to the rescue – The Inkey List! Since their brand launch earlier this year we’ve been diligently testing out their new formulas, and omg, we are beyond hyped with the results. Last month we were raving about their Retinol formula – just $13 with a super strength of 1% – and this month we had to tell you guys about their Zinc Oxide Cream Moisturizer, $12.
This isn’t just any cream moisturizer though, no, this contains THE MOST important ingredient that every derm swears is the most important skin step in your routine: SPF! Combining mineral and chemical sunscreens to offer SPF 50 protection (SPF is essential day in and day out, for us), this lightweight hydrating moisturizer is enriched with zinc and hyaluronic acid to protect and hydrate your skin all at the same time.

If you’ve always been one to shun SPF due to that annoying white cast that so many old formulas used to leave, then we promise you won’t have that issue with this. The formula is easy to spread and sinks in without leaving a greasy feeling, and more importantly, no deathly white cast. Another very important factor – how does it play with makeup? Well we’re happy to tell you it is approved as a makeup base; it doesn’t make your foundation go patchy or break up, and we’ve tested it with both water and oil-based formulas.
Another bonus we noticed was that this really helped to keep our oily skin under control. In case you didn’t know, a lot of derms actually suggest taking zinc supplements to keep oil production at bay, and this moisturizer had a similar affect!
So, if you’re looking for a new daytime moisturizer then we definitely recommend this. It ticks all the boxes: it’s hydrating, has SPF, controls oil, and works well under makeup, plus it’s affordable!
