Freaking Out Over This New Eyeshadow Palette!
In the last couple of years, we’ve seen tons of beauty bloggers, like myself, coming out with their own makeup collections. I love that more beauty lovers are able to create something they feel passionate about and that they know their beauty fam will love. The latest product to hit the scene is Manny MUA’s Life’s A Drag eyeshadow palette, $45, from his new makeup line Lunar Beauty. I follow Manny on Snapchat, and he is so adorable and talented, so I had really high hopes for his palette. The palette is inspired by drag makeup, and for me, this is one of the coolest influencer palettes I’ve seen, just because there are so many unexpected elements to it. It’s also a palette for everyone, so whether you like neutral or bold makeup, you can use this. Here’s my full review:
What it is: A 14-pan eyeshadow palette with six fierce, bold shades, two stunning micro glitter foils, and six nude mattes, that are long-wearing and easy to blend. The palette is vegan.
What we liked: I love the shade selection – and the names are brilliant! You can achieve a really natural daytime look with the neutrals, but you can also play around with the bold colors and get creative and have fun. The mattes feel on the drier side, but they’re highly-pigmented, blend really nicely, and they’re not patchy at all, so they work really well and will be suitable for all skin tones. For me, the shimmers are the stars of this palette, they’re so intensely shimmery, almost like a foil, and they work beautifully with a small dense brush or your finger. The brush is double-ended: the small dense brush works SO well with the shimmers to get high shine, and intense, concentrated pigment of the mattes. The other end of the brush is also really nice and picks up product well, although I think it could be a tiny bit fluffier to help with blending, but to be honest, everyone has their own brushes these days, so it’s not a big deal.
My tips: Start your look by using an eyeshadow primer, like Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow Primer Potion or use a concealer. Use the white shade, Cake Face, as a base for the bold colors like Campy and Kai Kai, to saturate the shades and make them really pop. For fair skin tones, Beat looks beautiful as a highlighter on the tops of cheekbones (use a medium fluffy brush) or the inner corner of your eye, and for deeper complexions, the Legendary golden shade looks stunning used in the same way – just go gently as these shimmers are majorly popping!
My verdict: I honestly love this palette, from the colors to the formula to the packaging! The packaging is so lux, and I love everything from the pink sparkly logo to his eyes in drag makeup on the front of the palette. The shimmers are stunning, I would love to see more of that formula in the future, and I can’t wait to see what Manny brings out next.
